Time for me to restock on capacitors. I had a stock of Rubycon YXF capacitors that I've been using to revive LCD tvs, but I've run out. Anyone have any opinions as to whether the ZLJ versions would be better or worse for this application?

ZLJ and ZLH are great in power supplies, I haven't had any issues using them. Their ESR is quite a bit lower (but not ultra low) compared to YXF, but that's a good thing for PSU's.Comment

I think YXF is non-aqueous electrolyte and ZLJ is aqueous electrolyte... The consensus here is that non-aqueous caps should last longer in PSUs eventhough they have lower endurance ratings than aqueous caps... Based on the assumption that YXx series are comparable to Panasonic FC/Nichicon PW and that ZLx series are comparable to Chemi-Con KY (Which has an aqueous electrolyte).

Close. ZL_ is more like NCC KZE, KZH or KZN. Ruby's equivalent to KY is YXG.I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

YXH is probably the closest (at least when comparing the common 2200uF 6.3V in 10x25mm), but they don't have an exact match.
YXJ caps are physically smaller for the same capacitance and voltage compared to YXH, and thus have a higher ESR and lower ripple.I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No Idea. I would guess that it's non-aqueous, but that's only based on the fact that its electrical specs are similar to FC.I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

you can even get 2000uf or 63v ones now.
not in that combination yet though.
