Rubycon YXF or ZLJ Capacitors for Power supplies?

Time for me to restock on capacitors. I had a stock of Rubycon YXF capacitors that I've been using to revive LCD tvs, but I've run out. Anyone have any opinions as to whether the ZLJ versions would be better or worse for this application?

ZLJ can work in some applications but in general are best for motherboards.

ZLJ and ZLH are great in power supplies, I haven't had any issues using them. Their ESR is quite a bit lower (but not ultra low) compared to YXF, but that's a good thing for PSU's.

I think YXF is non-aqueous electrolyte and ZLJ is aqueous electrolyte... The consensus here is that non-aqueous caps should last longer in PSUs eventhough they have lower endurance ratings than aqueous caps... I would still personally prefer ZLx though.

Based on the assumption that YXx series are comparable to Panasonic FC/Nichicon PW and that ZLx series are comparable to Chemi-Con KY (Which has an aqueous electrolyte).

If you have any concrete information that states otherwise, please post it.

Close. ZL_ is more like NCC KZE, KZH or KZN. Ruby's equivalent to KY is YXG.

What is Rubycon's equivalent of PW/LXZ/FC?

YXH is probably the closest (at least when comparing the common 2200uF 6.3V in 10x25mm), but they don't have an exact match.

YXJ caps are physically smaller for the same capacitance and voltage compared to YXH, and thus have a higher ESR and lower ripple.

Yea, but is YXH aqueous electrolyte, or is it equivalent to LXZ/FC/PW in that aspect?

No Idea. I would guess that it's non-aqueous, but that's only based on the fact that its electrical specs are similar to FC.

                          Makes sense.

I thought YXH was a newer series, but it appears that you're right... Haven't seen it that often though, but YXG was plenty popular, even as far back as 2000, possibly earlier.

kind of obsolete info given the price drop on cheap wurth-electronik poly's recently.
you can even get 2000uf or 63v ones now.
not in that combination yet though.
