    LG 42LV4400 Verticle Bars

    Hello All!

I'm currently having some difficulties with my LG 42LV4400. It started the other day after I left the room and left my TV and Ps3 (connected via HDMI) on while doing some stuff. I had a pretty long session of Need for Speed going on. Went back in later and the colors were kinda weird (inverted looking almost?!) then the bar on the left showed up. The TV looked kinda washed out with a smokey grey then I turned it off for a while and the smokey grey left but a black bar appeared in the middle. I took some advice and cleaned the ribbon cable connectors and nothing happened. Any help or suggestions would be great.

I'm kinda new to repairs so hopefully I can get some direction or someone will know exactly what happened and what needs to be done.

    THANK YOU!
Also if you need any more info, pictures, or whatever let me know.... although I fear taking apart this behemoth again.... So many screws!

The black band looks like it has dead TFT driver IC which is part of the LCD panel which is not replaceable.

Not replaceable? So unable to be repaired in anyway I assume. Well damn. Thanks for the heads up on the problem. Now I can look forward to a new TV purchase.

I could still sell the circuit boards and other stuff right? Its just the screen that is done for? Sorry I am way noob about this stuff.

Edit: Im an online seller so I love to get my moneys worth from things I cant use.

You need new panel, I would sell the boards, speakers, stands, remote on EBAY, look at shopjimmy.com to get some idea how much your parts are worth.

Radical! At least I can sell the parts off. Thanks for your help budm. I figure you know your stuff since you have all these guides around.

I didn't see a trading or selling thread around here. Either way I bet I can get some cash for my parts online. Maybe even in town. Im gonna call up some repair shops they might like some cheaper parts.

LG 55LF652V-ZA flashing led bars despite their replacement
            by Akira81
            Hello everyone,

I have this 55" LG 55LF652V-ZA smart TV which suddenly started flashing intermittently every 2 seconds with the backlight.

If I aimed the light bulb of my cell phone I could see the underlying image even in those fractions of time when the LEDs were off and the audio instead came out continuously.

Armed with a lot of space and patience, I decided to open the TV, immediately noticing that a LED had flamed out and also burned a portion of that reflective white panel behind the transparent LED diffusers.

            Samsung UN46C8000XFXZA vertical bars/horizontal lines
            by x_orange90_x
I posted about this previously but didn't get any response, and I have some troubleshooted a bit so I have more info.

The screen is full of horizontal "gaps" or lines that distort the picture badly, and after about 10 seconds of powering it on the screen starts to fill with red vertical bars that take on the horizontal pattern. After the screen filled with the red bars, they instantly vanished and then slowly started to reappear. I initially thought it was tab bonding failure, but after getting down to them and pressing each one I find zero change in the picture. I went...

            LG 65UQ70 horizontal bars jumping
            by CapLeaker
So I bought this LG 65UQ70 today at Walliworld. Put the wall mount on, set it up, worked for 30 mins and then I get these jumping horizontal bars. Let the TV do updates and let it cool down for 5 mins. Worked perfect for 2 mins. As soon the TV is warm I get the jumping vertical bars again.

Keep the other TCL thread in mind. Now I am questioning are all COVID 2022 / 23 TV’s bad or what? That’s two 65” TV’s one from Amazon and this one from Walmart. What are the chances on that?

I guess this one goes back either later today or tomorrow morning, unless...

Sharp LC-70LE650U vertical black and red bars
            by ninja_zx11
            Hi all,

70" LED TV is Sharp LC-70LE650U.

Initial problem was horizontal lines and slow motion lurrs on the bottom left of the screen. So I removed both the left and right ribbon cables from the T-con board and tried to clean it with alcohol and when I put it back, this issue appeared. I tried carefully reinserting the ribbon bon cables but same thing. I checked the traces of the ribbon cables with magnifying glass and everything looks good. I cleaned the small jumper ribbon cable on the left side of the screen which cured the horizontal line and slow motion blurs...

Sony 8K XBR-75Z8H White Screen Vertical Bars Tcon Code. Help Needed🙏
            by Daren87
            Hello everyone,

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...
