Vizio E371VL starts to Vizio logo

I have picked up this TV knowing that is an EEPROM issue(first for me).
It's not the famous u18 one though. It's a different board.
On this board is us4 the chip.
I have purchased one on Ebay from shopjimmy, for $28 shipped.
Replaced it and it goes over the logo to a black screen with sound.
    I have measured the 400V and it's not there, it's only 160V.
The other voltages are there at the connector. I'm not sure about the Status pin. What that is? It measures 3.03V.
The PWM IC is OZ9977BGN. I can't find dataheet for this IC.
It's safe to say that I need to replace it, since I can't check it?
It's located on the left side of the board at the bottom, it's the biggest there, 20 pin.

      It never rises from 160V?
Blimey, that is an anaemic board for a 37".

Have you tried reflowing those chips. That was one problem that seems to come up with the Vizio models similar to yours.
Have you ever stopped to think and then forget to start thinking again?

As a very wise man once said on this forum: "Of all the things I have lost I miss my mind the most."

I will have to monitor that voltage from when I start it up. I haven't done that yet.
I haven't tried re-flowing those chips yet. Would you know which should I try?

Re: Vizio E371VL starts to Vizio logo

No change at start up, it drops 3-4V and then goes back up to 161V-167V.
I'm wondering if this issue can be from EEPROM also or not?

Found the problem, it was D602-MUR460, circled in the picture.
              It was conducting both ways.
It's running now! It's a super light LCD TV.

That is PFC Diode, so that means the voltage on the main cap never goes up 370~390VDC.
Great job finding the cause of the problem. I always check the DC voltage on the main cap first to see if the PFC is working or not (if the circuit has PFC).

I haven't checked that. I have seen that it's working and I didn't even think about checking that.
The main capacitor is a 450V one, so it should go to 390V.

Only if it has PFC. TVs without PFC max voltage only ~input AC * 1.41.

Re: Vizio E371VL starts to Vizio logo

I am having a very similar issue with my e371vl. It starts up to the Vizio logo on the screen blinks once and then goes back to a black screen. I can still shut the tv off by pressing the power key on the tv. I've noticed by removing the rear cover that there is a little blue led light on the back of the power board. When the screen goes black after displaying the logo for a few seconds this little blue light fades away. I tried unplugging multiple ribbons and cables from both boards and checked all connections and I always get the same thing. I'm pretty handy with a multi meter and a soldering iron. I could just use a little guideance in my quest to fix this tv! I have searched hours on end through the inter webs and can't find anything that is exactly like what I'm experiencing!! Someone please help me! Thanks in advance!!

I have used the search, and am stumped.

My Vizio M65-C1, Vizio logo appears for about 10 seconds then goes off.Power LED blinks 15 times then the TV powers down.

I have read through many threads on the M65-C1 including the following threads. I feel like I must be looking right past the solution to my problem:

                        by Super360
Ok so here's the story. I was watching tv one day when all of a sudden I heard a pop from the back of the tv set and rushed to unplug the set. By this time the tv already had smoke coming out the back. It was not storming or inclement weather that day to cause a power surge to the best of my abilities. When I opened the tv up, I found that the three capacitors on the psu (highlighted in red) were all bulging and looked they had exploded. I replaced all of them right away and when I went to start up the tv after the "fix" it started just showing the flashing vizio logo as soon as power...

Vizio V555-G1 stuck on wallpaper; now stuck on V logo
                        by x_orange90_x
I just got this tv today and it's getting stuck on the wallpaper. When I first power it on it goes to the V logo, then a black screen for about 15 seconds, then a Chromecast error for just a few seconds, and then finally to a wallpaper. It stays frozen on this wallpaper and does not respond to anything on the remote besides power on/off. Likewise the buttons on the tv do nothing either (besides power). I did the "reset" by holding the volume down and input buttons together for 10 seconds. It showed a message at the top of the screen saying it was Wiping Data and would restart soon. After...

Vizio D32f-E1 Powers on, has backlight, won't boot/no logo, no menu or video
                        by JaquesPratt
I have a Vizio D32f-E1 LCD TV that does NOT have a TCON board.

This TV recently went through some 'death throes' and now won't boot. The first problem that began to manifest was while watching tv, the screen would 'freeze', and the image would dim over a few seconds until it was very dark. HOWEVER, the audio of the show would continue as normal. I could power off the TV for 5-20 seconds, power back on, and the video would be normal. This would occur 1-3 times when the TV was first started, and would not happen again after the TV was 'warmed up'. Not ideal, but this glitch was manageable....

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                        by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                        Assuming...
