    coby tftv4028 mainboard #002-FV40-2810-00R ver:1.0 need opinions!

I tested this mainboard and it worked fine! I then sold it on ebay and the person i sold it to said it was defective! So i asked what the tv was doing and he said "unit has bad picture shadow image"! So i asked what the tv was doing before he replaced the mainboard for which i haven't yet got an answer! I also stated that the mainboard doesn't cause that problem unless he is using the wrong board for that tv (which i may be wrong let me know)! He said the tv works it just has a ghostly picture and still never stated what it was doing before the mainboard replacement! He then states that he has an "other" board which works fine in the tv and that my board is bad! I then said if the "other" board works fine in the tv then why would you purchase my board because that doesn't make sense to me! I am thinking that the cause of blurry or ghostly image is either a bad panel or t-con board but he said it "works" fine with the "other" mainboard! I would love to hear everyones input! Thanks in advance!

Ask for a picture of the fault.
Also stop using so many exclamation marks!

I would take back the board. As much as your argue it, eBay does not usually find in the seller's favour.

i never had a problem like this. it just makes me upset to be accused of selling something bad when i know for a fact it wasn't bad. you are probably right that ebay will side with the buyer.

Yes and no. The main board is fine but it is the wrong variant, made for a different panel.
Looks like the guy does a lot of TVs from the background, so he should know this, I would at least charge him postage cost.

exactly what i thought he ordered the wrong mainboard for that tv! thanks for verifying tom. i said the same thing when i saw all the equipment he had that he knew what he was doing but i guess you can have all the equipment in the world but you have to know how to use it or it isn't worth a damn. even though that equipment has nothing to do with ordering the wrong part when the boards have the numbers printed on them thats just simple common sense. i did have someone before send me an email asking me a question if this board would work with their tv but i researched it and they had a 1013 not a 1010 if i can remember and that had more ribbons going to the t-con i think so i told them it wouldn't work and it would cause what this person is having now.

Ha good catch on the background lol.

Tell him no problem send it back and he will be refunded after standard verification of your board markings.

If he's messing with you and intended to send you a broken board back you won't hear from him again.

lol he already tried that with someone else and he paid for it. i looked at his purchase history and it showed he tried to send back the wrong board and that it didn't have the guys markings on it so he had to pay in full and did from what it said on ebay. he said that the only problem with his board was a broken rf connector so i'm guessing that probably the 1 he is gonna try and send me and resell or keep my good board for future use or to sell.

There are 3 different mainboards for the TFTV4028, depending on the panel and inverters used - maybe even different LVDS/T-CON as well. I learned the hard way.

Coby 002-FV40-2813-00R for AU Optronics T400HW03 panel
Coby 002-FV40-2812-00R for Samsung LTZ400HF21-W01 panel
Coby 002-FV40-2810-00R for Samsung LTA400HM02 panel

                      They are all slightly different.

I've been meaning to make a table of power supplies, inverters and mainboards that appear in a "TFTV4028" There are at least 3 different TVs in that model number.

The power supplies also vary: Megmeet MLT198TX and VP290UG02.

You have a solarized image, usually caused by a defective T-Con board

With this kind picture, I had several SONY with this problem & was caused by bad T-Con.

I agree t-con board issue... it often takes a warm up time before the t-con starts going physicadelic... I got a samsung that had this same issue; actually it had 2 issues; on the PC input or RCA input the unit would work fine for hours on end but once I put component or HD it went glitchy not physicadelic once i replaced the main board i then found the t-con was at fault too replaced that tv is fine... So its for sure a t-con issue...

I used to sell things on ebay too; my advice is do NOT sell things you do not know anything about... unless its the brooklyn bridge then you should sell that..!

I agree also. I have see this many times in Sony models and others that use the AS15-F drive ic, and have replaced this chip with many successful repairs. But this can also be caused by an incorrect Main board version designed for another version panel.

                                  Hi everyone,

I've got a little "problem child": my Dell Latitude 7420 2-in-1, which had a faulty mainboard.
I replaced it, but ever since, the touchscreen no longer works — and honestly, I’m running out of ideas…

In Windows Device Manager, I just see an I2C HID Device with error code 10. Sporadically, the touchscreen is recognized correctly for just a few seconds, but I haven’t been able to determine under which circumstances this happens.

The touchscreen also doesn’t work in UEFI/BIOS, although it’s enabled...

                                  Hello,
I have an old MASTER TL-240 LED TV. Since it stopped working and it had a DVB-T receiver that is being dismissed in Italy, I've decided to replace the mainboard with a DVB-T2 one.
The original problem was that when switching on the TV, the power LED was transitioning from red to steady blue, without showing video or audio.
After checking some voltages on the power supply board (HKL-240101-B Rev. 1.4, HKL from now on) someone suggested me to replace the mainboard.
Now I have some doubts about how to connect the new mainboard to the old power supply.

I have a Vizio M43-C1 stuck in a reboot loop with no backlight.

I've tested all the voltage rails coming out of the power supply and they are "normal" for this model (PS_ON & DIM go high when turned on, BL_ON & 3D_ON are close to zero due to backlight power flowing through the mainboard, 5VSB is 5V, and 12V is 19V, which is apparently normal for this board).

Basically, I get similar results to Garry in this post: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=80346

So, I've ruled out the PSU for now.

I have a QN65QN90A which was purchased around launch I guess making it about 1.5-2 years old... had been working fine until a few days ago, simply went black and would no longer turn on (at all). No standby light and no typical PSU relay click etc. Absolutely dead.

Pulled it apart without doing much research first, suspecting the power supply as it had a faint buzz (I guess due to the forthcoming found short), investigated PSU for some time and concluded there was no fault that I could spot with the board removed.

Came to learn after a bit more research...
