    What should that diode read?

Then it should be the same across the diode then D304, they're in parallel to each other. Where did 266 come from then.

In diode mode could be o.5-0.7 . Which one are you probing and I'll tell you mine.

Checked the diode in diode mode and the resistor in ohms

            testing the YSUS
            grd to VS is 3.37
grd to VA and grd to 5v starts out about that but starts dropping
            don't see 15 v
            What is yours?

Help me here, put some units in like ohms or kohms (K) or Mohms(meg) or is it in diode mode?

If Vsus to gnd is 3.37 ohms on the ysus connector, it's stuffed or shorted?

If Mohms then that's what i expect, Mine's about 3 meg vsus, 4meg Va and 5v is not steady but 1.5meg or so. They're not short, that's all I was concerned about.

So buffers not shorted, ysus power in not shorted, probably all you can establish apart from the zsus power in from the ysus.

All going well the PSU sorts it out, at least it won't be presented with a short cct when it comes on.

OK Thanks. Hope the PSU will fix it.

Can't figure out how to check that correctly. On P1 do put 1 lead on pin 5 and check all the other pins?

yep, blk on gnd or an earthing lug nearby I used. Checked gnd to lug 0 ohms

I'll try again, seemed way off compared to yours.

If the board is out flip it over the pin labels are underneath too. the legend on top for one of those is covered with a big blob of silicone so I could not read the pins that way.

Well that's interesting, so different except pins 1&2 on P1 are the same conection should read the same. I'll try mine again later, not an exact science doing this, no shorts that's a positive.

Crazy stuff, but I've done silly things like that. It's just a TV, don't lose to much valuable sleep over it.

                                          TW and TOM
I got the new PSU but haven't installed yet. The D304 diode seems to be open, so this could be defective. I have a pic of the diode and a video link of me testing it. Do you guys think this would give me trouble if I install this as is. I don't want to mess up anything else. I still have a good diode I could replace it, or maybe I need to send it back. Does it look bad to you guys?
