Sony KDL-46Z4100

Hello experts..
Picked up this sony tv for free...
It powers up fine,but shows this green raster on the screen(see pic)it flickers around a bit between green and yellowish.
When I change the channel it stops flickering and goes to a more solid green raster(pic2)..
Any idea where I should start looking?

Could be as simple as reseating the LCD video cable. Otherwise it looks like a mainboard or TCON issue.

That's the cable from the main board to the T-con board,correct?? I tried unplugging both ends end re seat and also wiggle the connectors when it was on,didn't make a difference...

Did you try reseating the ribbon cables from the tcon board to the panel?

You have to remove the silver tape and metal box to get to it

It looks like your t-con is faulty. This is similar to logic board faults in plasmas, where there's an evenly spaced pattern onscreen.

Can a person fix that on component level or is it time to go shopping for a board?

I'm going for main over t-con, unless the t-con has an FRC (120/240Hz converter) in which case I'd say 50-50 t-con or main.

Is there a way for me to do some tests to "rule out" if it's main or T-con??
I'm hoping it's main,did some reading and those t-con boards are hard to get and costly...

Looks like it does have an FRC, so it's either main board or t-con unfortunately.

Not particularly easily, unless you could analyse the signals travelling between the two. (which would require an oscilloscope)

It's digital. He bought it new not too long ago.

I'm back...!!!!! Finally got the oscilloscope from my friend,it's beautiful(not my friend,the scope lol)

Now,I hope you guy's can guide me in what to do in analyzing the signal between the main and T-con board to see if I can find the bad boy in this...
I will be patiently waiting for instructions from the pro's here
