    Sony KDL-55EX500 solid green screen

I have a Sony KDL-55EX500 which shows a solid green screen and I haven't been able to diagnose the problem. I was able to find a repair manual online and read a few forums on tv repair which pointed me towards it possibly being an issue with the power board or T-con board. Bad electrolytic capacitors seemed to be a common theme so I tried replacing all of the ones on on the power board, but that didn't fix it.

My next step was disconnecting all of the cables and reconnecting them. That helped a bit, showing a normal screen most of the time, but still switches back to solid green intermittently. I tried heating up the T-con board with a hair dryer for a bit and that seemed to resolve the problem for a day, but the next day the green screen came back, which has me wondering if it's a bad solder joint or bad lvds connection.

Any advice/confirmation on pinpointing the issue would be appreciated. I saved this tv from someone who was taking it to the dump so I'm trying not to spend much on it. I do apologize if I got any part names wrong. I've never fixed a tv before and can count on one hand the number of electronics I've fixed in my life.

I would say you need to concentrate on your cable between t-con and main board. Any damaged contacts. If you can clean contacts.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

I gave this a try today and cleaned the cable ends and connectors on the T-con board and main board with rubbing alcohol. The intermittent green screen still shows up.

I did find one solder joint on the T-con that looked cracked so I added more solder but that didn't help either.

I would try wiggling cable and moving connectors. Taping on t-con and main board to see if anything changes. Should be able to narrow an intermittent down.

I’ve tried wiggling the cable/connectors and when it seems like it’s working, the screen goes green again later on. What do you mean by taping? Like just securing it with tape?

I think I would throw a new tcon at it.

this one looks like a match, need to match up the numbers on the white sticker as described there in the ad if you get one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/15254981916...Zh5NG#shpCntId

                LCD TV Green/Pink screen problem
                by jimjoe123
I have a Dick Smith 37" LCD TV, Model GE6804. I am using it as PC extended monitor only.

Problem is while watching tv, I hear a semi loud click(like a electrical breaker tripping due to overload, just sound like it but no actual electrical overload), then screen is covered with green or pink. I can still see the original picture image but overlayed by green or pink. See attached images. Pink.jpg is what I see, and Normal.jpg is before green or pink screen, What I captured was pink screen, but about 80% of time it's green and 20% of time it's pink.

                Then each time...

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
                by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Macbook Air M2 A2681 Kernel panics after screen replacement
                by reformatt
Just had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".

It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...
