I have a Sony KDL-55EX500 which shows a solid green screen and I haven't been able to diagnose the problem. I was able to find a repair manual online and read a few forums on tv repair which pointed me towards it possibly being an issue with the power board or T-con board. Bad electrolytic capacitors seemed to be a common theme so I tried replacing all of the ones on on the power board, but that didn't fix it.
My next step was disconnecting all of the cables and reconnecting them. That helped a bit, showing a normal screen most of the time, but still switches back to solid green intermittently. I tried heating up the T-con board with a hair dryer for a bit and that seemed to resolve the problem for a day, but the next day the green screen came back, which has me wondering if it's a bad solder joint or bad lvds connection.
Any advice/confirmation on pinpointing the issue would be appreciated. I saved this tv from someone who was taking it to the dump so I'm trying not to spend much on it. I do apologize if I got any part names wrong. I've never fixed a tv before and can count on one hand the number of electronics I've fixed in my life.
