So how would you go about isolating the problem on the main board? I was a little confused why the connectors to the power supply would be on pins that said NC...

So does anyone know how much a new main board would be or is there a way to pinpoint the problem on the main board?

Due to the length of time this TV has been sitting, I've either got to fix this TV or sell it. If you are interested in helping me out either way, reply to this thread or PM me. I'd like to get it fixed so I can use it, but it needs to move from where it is either way.

So after doing a little testing of pulling different cords, I decided to pull off the main board completely. The picture below shows a few caps on the main board. I don't think they are actually popped, but I thought I'd ask and see if anyone had a different opinion.

Those look fine to me -- that's pretty normal for surface mount rubycons (which those are.)

              Re: Philips Plasma 50PFP5332D/37

I figured. After taking the main off, I put it back on and connected everything, screws and all. I started messing with the plugs and I have made some good progress:
              - In picture 006 it shows the far right connector plugged in. This allows all the boards to power on, including the main board. However when I plugged in inputs, nothing came on the screen. I don't have any HDMI connectors so I can't check those inputs. However the menu button, channel buttons, volume buttons, and power button do nothing when pressed.
              - In picture 007 it shows the next connector in plugged in and the far right connector unplugged. This allows all the board except the main board to power on.
              - In picture 008 both connectors are plugged in. If this is done before the TV is plugged in, the relays just click ad nauseum. If this is done while the TV is on, it just shuts everything off.
Another note is that to get the status that I mention in the first bullet (picture 006) the TV must be on and the connectors have to be unplugged first. Then when you connect the far right one by itself, it clicks once and the main board powers on with everything else.
One more thing I tried was plugging in the connectors at an angle:
              - When I start from the configuration 007 and try to plug the top half of the far right connector in the main board clicks on. As I continue to try and plug it in all the way by the time I get to the last wire, it shuts everything off.
              - When I start from the configuration 006 and try to plug the top half of the next connector in, everything shuts off. If however I start from the bottom, everything stays on until I get to the top.
This leads me to believe there might be a short or a misplaced wire. Are either of these a possibility?

Connector 008 may connect to a short, try tracing the wires labelled on it e.g. for 12V or 5V and see if the resistance is low.

                  Re: Philips Plasma 50PFP5332D/37

So i went to test the pins and realized I had left it with all the connectors plugged in and the cord plugged into the wall. I now have no response from the TV when I plug it in. I figured it was a fuse, so I replaced the three that I found on the power supply, but there is still no response. I pushed the power button, unplugged everything and plugged it all back in: still no response.

TV is nonresponsive. I am junking it. Thankfully I only spent ~$20 in parts and got a soldering kit, but that's more of an investment than a repair cost. Thank you for all of your help tom66.

Yeah or stick it on craigslist and someone will buy it off you for $20 or so.

                          Thanks

                          Hello, guys!

The same 32" Philips TV I was having video issues, but now I don't have standby led at all. Someone here shared with me the schematic of the power supply, and checking the voltages, I see right after the resistor R604 I'm getting 1.6 v which is too low for enabling the Gate of the Q601 mosfet (the diagram says 4.2). On the R614 resistor I'm getting 181 V in and 117 V out, then through R603 I'm getting the same 117 V in and 59.9 V out, finally getting the latter voltage in the R604 BUT getting just 1.6 V out, which is the voltage that goes on to the Gate of the Q601...

Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo, it does not reboot it just stays on the logo.

It does power up when pressing the power button.

I already try the power button while plugin the plug with no result.
Also put the latest firmware autorun-TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000.upg on a MBR/FAT32 USB stick at USB port2 with no result either.

Could this be an PSU or eMMC issue ?

Philips curling iron - is this a common AC cable?
                          by double_DD
                          Hi all,

Wife has 2 Philips hair curling irons half defective - after learning how they're supposed to work and testing them, it turned out that both have defective power cables, and both on the same place; broken wires due to wire bending.
As they were both relatively easy to disassemble, and cables are plugged not soldered (as they can rotate in the handle), I was sure it would be easy to find replacements. But - NO! I'm unable to find anything similar on ebay or Aliexpress.

Not sure if this is something Philips proprietary, or a standard, but the cable plug...

                          Philips 47PFS7509/12 LCD TV problem
                          by janos6662000
                          Hi

I have here a Philips 47PFS7509/12 LCD TV which came to me with a weird problem : without signal i could access menu, make a factory reset, access menus, etc.
When i applied cable signal to check image, i had normal picture, but TV was restarting.
I downloaded original firmware and applied the update, but the problem remained.
From a colleague i received a "factory package software" which is a lot bigger.
I made another firmware update, but still did not solve the problem.
Somewhere on the way the error got worse, because at the moment the...
