Re: Philips Plasma 50PFP5332D/37
TV is nonresponsive. I am junking it. Thankfully I only spent ~$20 in parts and got a soldering kit, but that's more of an investment than a repair cost. Thank you for all of your help tom66.

Re: Philips Plasma 50PFP5332D/37
So i went to test the pins and realized I had left it with all the connectors plugged in and the cord plugged into the wall. I now have no response from the TV when I plug it in. I figured it was a fuse, so I replaced the three that I found on the power supply, but there is still no response. I pushed the power button, unplugged everything and plugged it all back in: still no response.

Re: Philips Plasma 50PFP5332D/37
I figured. After taking the main off, I put it back on and connected everything, screws and all. I started messing with the plugs and I have made some good progress:
- In picture 006 it shows the far right connector plugged in. This allows all the boards to power on, including the main board. However when I plugged in inputs, nothing came on the screen. I don't have any HDMI connectors so I can't check those inputs. However the menu button, channel buttons, volume buttons, and power button do nothing when pressed.
- In picture 007 it...Last edited by Xsoldier416; 08-17-2013, 11:39 AM.

Re: Philips Plasma 50PFP5332D/37
So after doing a little testing of pulling different cords, I decided to pull off the main board completely. The picture below shows a few caps on the main board. I don't think they are actually popped, but I thought I'd ask and see if anyone had a different opinion....

Re: Philips Plasma 50PFP5332D/37
Due to the length of time this TV has been sitting, I've either got to fix this TV or sell it. If you are interested in helping me out either way, reply to this thread or PM me. I'd like to get it fixed so I can use it, but it needs to move from where it is either way.

Re: Philips Plasma 50PFP5332D/37
So does anyone know how much a new main board would be or is there a way to pinpoint the problem on the main board?

Re: Philips Plasma 50PFP5332D/37
So how would you go about isolating the problem on the main board? I was a little confused why the connectors to the power supply would be on pins that said NC...

Re: Philips Plasma 50PFP5332D/37
I soldered a wire between pins 3 and 4, plugged everything in, and turned it on. The relays clicked repeatedly until I unplugged the third connector (1M46) from the power board. At that point the relays clicked once, the control board turned on, there was no power to the main board, the Ysus came on and then the screen started to go through several colors: white, green, red, blue, back to white with a scrolling black horizontally, then black scrolling vertically, and then a weird ripple effect coming from the bottom right hand corner. After all this...

Re: Philips Plasma 50PFP5332D/37
Starting with all of the boards connected, I unplugged the third connector (1M46) from the Power to the Main. This allows the control board and the far left boards (Ysus?) to power on, and the screen glows. However this means that the Main board is not on as none of the relays or in-board LED's on the Main board are lit.

Re: Philips Plasma 50PFP5332D/37
Update: After a little more looking, I realized that the large board on the left (https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=66298&d=1372211941) was not plugged in and after plugging it in, I unplugged the third connector and the screen comes on. That board on the left does make a loud hum though.Re: Philips Plasma 50PFP5332D/37

Re: Philips Plasma 50PFP5332D/37
For voltages starting with the first connector (1M02):
pin 7 - fluctuates between -2.5 and -3.6 mV
pin 6 - 17.28 V
pin 5 - 17.28 V
pin 4 - fluctuates between -.5 and -.9 mV
pin 3 - fluctuates between -.6 and -1.0 mV
pin 2 - -17.21 V
pin 1 - -17.21 V
Second connector (1M03):
NOTE: When this connector is unplugged the relays click faster.
pin 10 - NC
pin 9 - It says there should be no connection, but there is a wire there and it ramps up from 0 to 200 mV and then reverts...

Re: Philips Plasma 50PFP5332D/37
So I've had the DMM for a few days now and I just sat down to test the pins from the power to the main, but I can't see a good place to touch both sides from?

I do not have a multimeter. All I could find was a basic voltage indicator.

Re: Philips Plasma 50PFP5332D/37
Both side boards are unplugged but the TV does not turn on. It just keeps clicking. With every click an LED on the main board, control board, and the little board right next the the main board, flash:

Re: Philips Plasma 50PFP5332D/37
Here are the pictures of the boards and full back. I was unfortunately working with limited light sources, so if they're too dark or just not good enough in general I can bring in a couple more lamps and try again....

Philips Plasma 50PFP5332D/37
So I have a broken plasma and I haven't quite figured out what's exactly wrong with it just yet. I followed a lot of the tips on Tom66's plasma fix-it guide and that has been informative if not helpful in learning things for future reference, I just haven't located the specific problem.
To update on what I've checked thus far:
1. I replaced the capacitors on the power board (almost all of them except the very large ones).
2. I have tried all the various configurations of components plugged in and not plugged in through the power board.
Through it all the relays...
