    Replacing SMD Fuse on T-con

I found a blown fuse on an LCD TV t-con, and the picture came up fine after I jumped the fuse. Instead of buying a replacement t-con, I was going to replace the fuse, but I'm having a hard time finding an exact spec. match. I contacted Digikey, and they provided a replacement recommendation. However, I'm unsure of the replacement's suitability for this application, since it's amperage is slightly less than the original:

    Exact match: http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...21CT-ND/559655

    Suggested replacement (3.0A instead of 3.15A): http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...32CT-ND/686752

Would this be a better replacement? http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...5TR-ND/1206513

Edit: Ugh, never mind. I'm going to use MFU12063.15TR-ND, since the voltage doesn't matter much.

    Hi,
Personnaly I use a standard fuse of the same rating that I connect with two little pieces of wire to the PCB and then enclose it in protective insulating tape and put back the T-Con and its metal shield in place. No need to worry for special fuse as long as rating (3.15 amps fast blow in your case I guess) is the same.
    Regards.

I ended up ordering the 3.15A 63V SMD fuse last night.

Did your new fuse work? I'm curious how you're post install went. I too have the same fuse blown. I am scared it will just blow again cause of some other failed component in the circuit of the tcon board.

Yes, it worked out great. I wouldn't try to remove the old fuse. Just install the new fuse on top of the old one.

Fuses are designed with voltage and amperage in mind. Example a 250 v 4 amp should allow 1000 watts of power to run through it. A 125v 4 amp fuse should allow 500 Watts of power to run through it. Voltage rating is important as is the amperage.

'The voltage rating relates to the ability of the fuse to
function and extinguish internal arcs when it opens. The
interrupt rating is how large a short-circuit or fault
current the fuse can interrupt or stop safely without
allowing a continuing arc and without damaging the
              fuse body or fuse holder."
