• Hi, The IC806 IC is driving the standby supply, you should also check IC807 driving the other supplies MOSFET Q313 and Q314 that may be shorting

• Samsung LE32B350 PSU BN44-00289

Hello,
The PSU of this TV was dead, after changing a MOSFET and Capacitor, it's on again but the PFC part is not working. The IC FAN7530 is dead so the HV is limited to 310 volts. I do not have a FAN7530 on stock here, but I have FAN7529. I do not see any difference in the datasheets. Can anyone tell me if they can be substitued ?
Thanks. Jean

• LED circuit of LINSAR 55LED900

Hi,
The LED inverter part of this TV has blown (board TP.MS 3458.PC757) so I have to replace several parts but they are not identified. Has anyone this board schematic so I could repair it ?
PWM circuit schematic concerned is MOSFET IPS80R900 and IC LD7750 and surrounding components.
Thanks.
Jean

• Re: Share and question about TV repair books

Hi,
The book "Réparez vous même vos appareils électroniques", as you say is more général than TV only, it covers all kind of appliances where électronics is invomved, the largest chapters are covering LCD/LED TV's and Plasma TV where the internal functionning is explained to help diagnose and repair correctly the sets. Non TV repairing readers are complaining about the quantity of information givent to TV's which they do not care for. As explained, a TV has inside circuits that can be found in a lot of other apppliances...

Hi, as you are from Belgium, you probably speak french so I would recommend the book "Réparez vous même vos appareils Électroniques" available from many online vendors such as Eyrolles (the editor) or Amazon.

• Re: China sourced component purchasing

Hi, I never had any problem with components bought through Aliexpress. I think vendor are very afraid of any complain that might disqualify them in Aliexpress so they do not wrong things on purpose. Twice a problem with a defective smartphone LCD, vendor sent another one. Just a problem with LED bulbs (I admit these are not components), the announced power is a way far from being real power (sometimes 50%), vendors use Voltamps values of apparent power instead of effective real power in watts and the power factor is poor (about 0.5). Bulbs...

• Re: Toshiba Regza 32AV635D LCD vertical lines

I would try to clean and reset all flat ribbon cables from Tcon to panel and LVDS cable too (from Main board to Tcon). If not satisfying, small chance for the Tcon failing, more probably a panel tab bonds failure. Good luck

• Re: Samsung un32eh5000f No backlight.

Testing and fixing the LEDs is quite easy and inexpensive but watch carefully when you dissassemble and reassemble the panel. Due to the fact the panel has no screws but only pop-up tabs on the plastic surrounding the LCD, it is is difficult to open and necessitates to put force on the frame for dissassembling. Worse is reassembling as each of the frame tabs must be pushed toward LCD to be locked, again it is necesary to apply important force and the tabs click strongly agin the panel. So, last week, one fixed screen broke by itself without...

• Re: Samsung LED Strip burnt out Model UN46EH5000

Hi,
These ones should fit and have good reliability for a lot cheaper but shipment delay could be 2 weeks.

I use them reguralily and got no return so far.
These ones should also fit, they have a larger direct current but I did not use them yet.:

• Re: LG 42LB5600-UZ sound but no backlight

Hi Ifixstuff9, Thanks for the update, I am glad you fixed it for just a small cost compared to buying LED Strips.
I hope this will help convince people to try this kind of inexpensive fix as it is not much difficult to achieve.

• Re: LG 42LB5600-UZ sound but no backlight

Great, let us know when you'll be finished.
For testing the LED's one by one, I use an analog multimeter with a 3V and 9V internal batteries that is able to illuminate an LED in ohmmeter X1 position. If you use a tester on an entire strip, you may see a full black strip for only one single failing LED (open circuit) while in other cases a failing LED will be acting like a resistor or a diode then you can see the ones to be changed.

• Re: LG 42LB5600-UZ sound but no backlight

The Shopjimmy LEDs do not mention voltage, size and current but look correct, the vendor may give you details. Anyway, you don't need the lenses as they usually do not break when removing. Here are the LEDs I use : https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/100PCS-1G-LED-Backlight-1210-3528-2835-1W-100LM-Cool-white-LCD-Backlight-for-TV-TV/32484083505.html
Their color temperature, light flux value, voltage and current are just perfect fit. You just need to wait a bit more for receiving them ! As a complementary information, the hot...

• Re: LG 42LB5600-UZ sound but no backlight

Why don't you try replacing individual LED's ? It's not so hard and a lot lot more economical (about 10 cents each LED replaced). I personnally ordered LED's 3528 rated at 400 mA form Aliexpress and repaired several Toshiba, LG and Samsung TV's using these. A lot of posts explain how to, even youtube movies describe how to proceed. The most critical is to open the screen to access the strips. You have to test each LED using a multimeter by removing a bit of white painting on the strips PCB lanes to allow electrical contact with probes (try...

• Re: Post The Led Backlights Your Fixing Here.

Hi all,
Fixed an Hitachi L42VP01C with 4 LED's failing.
Fixed an LG 32LN5400 with 5 LED's failing.
Have two more 32" LG to fix.
Using 400mA LEDs from Aliexpress so far so good.

• Re: Vestel TV set common issues and schematics

Hi friends, just notice that the Vestel schematics might be erroneous, for exemple the 17IPS20 as different versions using different IC's and fitting different TV sizes. In addition, resistor values are sometimes wrong, for example two 56K resistors are shown as source resistor on Q211 power Mosfet of supply FQPF6N80 (where current sense is drived to IC driver SG6742HR while it is a 0.33 ohm on board. Same thing for PFC driver and so on. I spent a lot of time to figure out righr values for certain resistors that were burnt on my board....

• Re: LED Backlight replacement question

I personnally replaced a lot of bad LED's on strips, just removing the lens with a precision cutter applied on the base of three pads, then using a heat gun to remove the failing LED and resolder a new one in place either from its edge with a conventionnal solder iron or with a heat gun blowing from the backside of the strip's PCB. In that cas I use self adhesive aluminium (used by plumbers) to maintain the LED in place and prepare both the LED and the PCB pads with a little solder and flux. Watch the polarity and test one by one the replaced...

• Samsung PS42P4A1 won't turn on 5V SB problem

Hi all,
I am trying to fix this Plasma TV that doesn't turn on The 5V standby supply delivers fluctuating voltage form 1.2 to 1.5 volt. I replaced the driver IC IEC2A280 without success, checked all caps, nothing looks bad on either HOT or COLD side.
The standby PSU section starts and delivers output power but stops quickly, not allowing enough time to raise the output voltage. It looks that the feedback provided by an opto isolator do not deliver control to the driver IC because the output voltage is not high enough. The VCC voltage of the driver IC is not correctly re-enrgized...
