Yes! i can see it. how did you get that board? I thought it is not common. What do you mean by "initial aps"?

It is a very common part. Used in lots of different brands of TVs.

Initial APS is in the menu, try turning it on, then press power button to turn off, then turn it on again. Should power up as if it were new from the box.

The EEPROM I think can be replaced with a blank one, but first, you will need to check the part # on it. Please can you read off the part numbers.

So that is an EEPROM.
Can you source a replacement part locally or from a distributor?
It doesn't need any program, it can be blank.

Does yours have that brown wire for a factory modification?
Once you install that EEPROM you may have to adjust everything in the service menu. Colours etc may be wrong without doing that.
Remember to keep the original EEPROM as a spare, in case you need it!

Just remember to install the modification wire in the same place if it exists on your board.

I have read somewhere that a set should still work without an eeprom in place
but as you say with odd settings. Any changes made in that state will be lost
when the set is switched off. Is that something he could try?

Possibly, but it did not work in my case on one Vestel. When I installed a blank eeprom it booted but was confused and had to be reconfigured.

I don't think it will work, but I doubt it will cause damage if not.

Carefully use a flat-head screwdriver to pry it out -- careful not to bend any pins.

I tried it Tom, and this is what i saw on the screen-image below-. I made the necessary adjustments but it still did not produce any picture or sound like you earlier said. But does this little change prove that if i replace the eeprom it will work?

Just proceed through the setup stages - select country, tune TV, etc. I think you'll need a blank eeprom to test it properly.
Or did you try that and it did not work?
I would try a blank eeprom but if not then the main board may need a replacement or repair depending on price.

You could try putting the old one back in - just to see what it does- perhaps just taking it out will change something and putting it back may re-write it.
