    Proscan 40LC45Q

Ok, here goes... I aqquired a "Proscan 40LC45Q" which doesn't work. When I plug the power cord in, a little blue light on the front comes on?
My question is, Is this supposed to be on when the TV is plugged in or is it the main power light to indicate that the TV is in operating mode?
The reason I ask, the power buttons have no effect, the screen is black, no other lights come on when I press the power button, the little blue light does nothing?
After reading "Umpteen" posts on this particular model, all indications pointed to a failed power supply board?
So, I replaced the board with a "guaranteed" used one, Still doesn't work, same as before, "as soon as I plug it in, the little blue lite comes on"?
I unplugged the button board from the main board to eliminate the possibility of the power button being stuck, "even tho, it definatly clicks when I press it."
Does anyone know if the light is supposed to change color when the power button is pressed or is it even supposed to be on when plugged in??
Inspecting the main board, I can see no visible damage or indications of blown caps and after wasting $$ on a used power board, I'm hesitant on wasting any more $$'s on a main board?!
I appreciate any insight anyone can give me....Thanks in advance..

    Re: Proscan 40LC45Q

The best way to be sure about the blue light is to read the user manual. A lot of TVs I have repaired keep the light on when in standby, and turn it off when switched on.
Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

      Re: Proscan 40LC45Q

I downloaded the pdf manual but unless I missed it, there's no reference to the light in the document I have? I was really hoping someone on here either has this model or had one, that could tell me if the light is supposed to come on when the power cord is plugged in? From what I gather, Lights on some models turn red or green when power button is pressed, other models, the blue light comes on when the power button is pressed? Hopefully someone will chime in on this?

Appreciate the info. After reading the manual again, mine is supposed to be blue in standby & red when it's on? But, nothing happens when I press the power button??

            Re: Proscan 40LC45Q

Working on a Proscan 40LC45S and the power supply has failed. The power keeps spiking but will not stay on. Unplugged everything from board and there is no standby voltage. So I checked everything and nothing bad found. I started to pull caps and the 2,200 were reading about 1,900 so I changed them and a few others. Now I have all my voltages when I unplugged the inverter board but with the inverter board plugged in the power supply will not power up. Maybe there is still a bad cap on the PS or the inverter board is bad. There is one transformer reading low ohms, .366 and .666 so I am expecting that is bad but I also expect the PS board to still have a bad cap. Oh, and the light on the front stayed a steady red no matter what I did and that was before I changed the caps so I will have to do an update. I will check the six caps on the PS that I skipped over and see what happens after that. Also the TV turns on with sound if I leave the inverter board unplugged.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

                Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
                by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

Physically bending the T-Con board creates horizontal dotted lines on OLED55CXPUA
                by fredtred
                Hello!
I have been trying to solve this issue the past 12 months to no avail. I have been a lurker here during that time but finally decided to post my problem and see if anybody knows a solution.

                Problem
My tv (OLED55CXPUA) has an issue where it displays horizonal lines of dotted artifacts.

                (See Attachment 1)

                Self Diagnosing
After a very long troubleshooting period I traced the issue to the T-Con board. If I gently flexed/bend the board I could make the display go from GOOD to BAD and vice versa. I have ruled out the connectors/wires...
