    Vizio VP503 HDTV10a Black Screen

When the screen went black there was no audible pop. Breakdown shows no visible bad caps. I've removed the PSU (LSJB1260-1), the main (3850-0182-0150), and replaced the SC (TNPA 4393AE) and still no picture. No visible burn marks on the foil side.

Here's the dilemma; The VP503, from my research, is a Panasonic TH 50PX80UA, for all intent and purpose. I cannot find a service manual for the 503, so I've been studying the Panny manuals. Although there are some differences, page 16 of the service manual (see pdf) is telling me it's an A board problem. In 2009 Panasonic incorporated the D board into the A board. This set has the D board which is older Panasonic technology (pre 2008) On my SS and SC boards those LED indicators are marked D253 and D583. They only stay lit for a few seconds and then fade out.

I have a DMM and a Blue ESR. The DMM has auto ranging. I am a real novice with electronics so be patient and precise when giving instructions. I have pictures but do not want to clutter your board. Ask for specific or all and I will load them.

And, might I say, this is an awesome board. I've went through the 200+ pages and am confused as ever.

    Regards, Gary

First, can you supply pictures of the chassis?

In a dark room, does the screen appear to slightly glow?

Does the LED blink red a number of times? If so, this is a error code. Count the blinks between each pause.

I don't think Vizio has a blink code. If it does I never saw one. The on light starts amber and then goes to blue.

Screen does not glow in a dark room.

I have all your manuals plus many others (Panasonic, not Vizio)

As you can see in the photo, I'm just putting the power board back in.

Ah, yes, since this is a Vizio TV with a Panasonic PDP, it won't blink any error code. Such a shame to see sublime engineering (Panasonic plasma display panels/modules) mixed with Vizio's excuse of a main board.

Have you tested the power supplies' Vsus output?

No I haven't as I'm not sure how to do it. See photos for connection to power board. Do you test with the connector on? And how. Auto ranging? The Vsus sticker says 186v.

186V on a Panny plasma module? That's pretty low. Normally around 200-215V.

The voltage can be measured across PMM7 - careful high voltage.

Do the relays click, at all?

Is this the manual for your set?
                http://www.tgohome.com/ServiceManual...&Search=Submit

Looks to use a Panasonic plasma module but an earlier revision.

It's somewhat correct> I have no idea what the 'F' before the HDTV means. And this model has 2 power supply boards as later model 1080P sets. I did read this one before but didn't get much out of it.

I plug it in: series of 4 clicks, LED is orange. Power on button: 2 clicks, LED is white. My fault, not BLUE.

OK, when it clicks, do you get anything on PMM7, as I listed above? (Care -- high voltage.)

Also, when it goes white, if you press standby button again, does it go orange again?

PMM7 on stanby: Starts at about 5v and continually drops. On power on: starts at about 187v and drops. I hope I got that right.

When I push the standby/power button there is a single click. It doesn't automatically shut down. Only when I power it down. From my reading I think that the power routes through the D board to send signals back to the power board and video signals to the SC and SS boards. I'm not positive, but I think I've got that right. I bought the SC board from ShopJimmy. I don't think I needed it. I'd like not to buy a D board unless I need one.

So, 187V rises, then drops out, with no click? With the SC and SS installed, what happens?

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hey guys I've got a MSI GS66 Stealth 11ue-007us Board Number MS-16V41 VER.1 with a broken screen connector on the motherboard.I was wondering how I would go about finding a exact replacement for it.I can't seem to find any schematics that would help me so I'm kinda stumped.I did buy a screen connector that I thought was close enough but it doesn't really invoke much confidence in me that it works perfectly as plugging the screen into sometimes does output a "glitchy" image for just a few seconds. So now I'm kinda in a cross road where I'm pretty sure it could be a faulty screen but I...

                                          Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Hi I am new to this kind of repairs but I want to learn..I have a Samsung UN65JS8500F. the TV used to work and I tried to fix darker areas in the middle only ( img 1,2,3). I thought the led strip were bad..not the case. I did not research in advance what kind and where the LED were located. In this model they are located vertically on right and left side. Took the TV apart and put it back together. Now the tv shows no welcome screen and no sound is available thru the speakers. ..just a black screen..Backlight LED do turn on...also noticed a 5 blink code , not sure if that was there before. I can...
