Well I just got the new inverter board and no luck... Same problem.

I said that I did notice that as soon as I plug in the TV, it immediately begins to blink 6 times before it is even turned on.

Wouldn't this mean the PSU is at fault? Since there hasn't been any signal to the inverter board yet, how would it know it is bad?

Is there a pin marked INV ERR?

Theres a BL_ERR on the PSU.

So I'd suspect one of the bulbs in the panel as being bad...

Does 26V on the 24V rail to the inverters seem high?

Yeah, that could trip an over-voltage protection (OVP) feature on an inverter. Many inverter controller chips have OVP. Usually it's set to >26V, sometimes >27V.

I'm guessing a problem on the PSU.
That fact that it doesn't drop to zero once it turns off seems suspicious.

It may be possible to adjust it. Any adjustment pots etc.?

Meter seems to be working good. Just rechecked everything, but only on the 24V rail I'm measuring 25.9V.

Decided to check the CCFL lamps again, i just removed the white plastic covering the lamp connections and realize that they are actually single tubes, not the U shaped lamps.

I have alot of spares from salvaged TV's and I just replaced every single one of them. no luck though... still having the same exact problem..

So ruling out the inverter and the ccfl lamps for sure.

Only thing left is the PSU to check. (The TV service also reported that the psu is the part to replace in the quote but I didn't know why. Caps were also changed already to rubycon by them.)

So the 24V is getting an output of 26V, I checked all the components near the 24V output and they all check out good..

OK, well check the other output like 12V for audio, and see if that also measures high (maybe 13V.)

Yeah, so you have high outputs, common across all of them, we will need a pic of the bottom of the PSU, I suspect the TL431 or feedback resistors.

I'm currently working on repairing a malfunctioning Sony TV model KD-65XE7005 with the mainboard 1-981-926-21. I would appreciate your assistance with this issue.

Upon powering on the TV, the Sony logo appears for approximately 3 seconds, after which the backlight remains lit, the screen remains black, and nothing else happens. The TV consumes around 55W initially and then drops to 35W. The indicator LED remains solid white. It doesn't respond to the remote control. When attempting to update the TV using a USB dongle, the dongle briefly flashes but nothing else happens.

Hi community! Germany calling I am wondering if you guys can help me out. I have an issue with my Sony LED TV. I've been told this is a good place to ask. Thanks for anyone who will reply and offer advice. Appreciated!

I have a KD-65X9005A Sony 4k LED TV. For a few weeks I've got this problem where I turn on the TV and within a few seconds the TV starts getting darker until it shuts itself off and I get the 4 blinking error code. HOWEVER there is one exception: Whenever I switch to the i-Manual, a full screen on-screen instruction manual, the TV never turns off. I tested for hours!...

                                            Hello,

                                            I have problem with SONY 55X90J. After several check status is as below;
                                            1. Running power board as stand alone:

                                            TCON_12V =~ 12.6V
                                            EVDD V On Max 24V= 19V.

                                            2.
Running power board with TCON as stand alone:

                                            Effect as below, attched.

                                            3. When bottom LVDS cable is disconnected no blinks, but of course no TCON 12V and EVDD.
"I'm almost sure it's a defective panel, but maybe someone has encountered a similar issue on their screen.

                                            Best regards....

Sony XBR-75X940E intermittent 6 blinks error code

Hi everyone. First post on Badcaps!

I am trying to fix a Sony 940E from 2017 that either starts normally (and works perfectly until turned off) or goes straight to the 6 blinks error code without showing anything on the screen. It is frustrating to know that it can still work perfectly but is barely usable because of the difficulty starting it up. I am willing to try to short the BL_ERR but I would like to avoid that if possible. Does anyone have a view on this? Thanks a lot....

Sony KD-65A1 Repair – 4 Red Blinks Error
                                            by AK_777
                                            Hi everyone!
I have a Sony KD-65A1 TV with a fault – 4 red LED blinks. After disassembly and visual inspection, I found that the G76 power board and DKA board had been replaced. It is also possible that TCON was replaced, but I am not sure – there are a few marker marks that could be factory-made.

Based on assumptions, the previous service attempted to solve the issue by replacing potentially faulty components. I decided to investigate further, found a service manual, and figured out a way to power up the power supply unit autonomously and put the OLED panel and...
