Re: NEC Px42VM3A lost all display

I assume the heat sinks are the brown looking like film ribbons.
Do I need to disconect the white ribbons as well. All connectors thur out the unit
Basically if a circuit board is connected with a white plug type clip disconnect it correct.

It appears the heatsinks for the bottom drivers is the metal plate at the bottom of the TV - runs the length of the boards. Leave the brown connectors in & whatever you do, do not remove this heatsink if the brown connectors are still connected.

Okay I put the heat sink bar back in and all brown ribbons all still in place.

OK, so if you detach all but one of those long boards (aside from brown conn) what do you measure? I am trying to rule out the plasma panel itself as being at fault.

from left to right 00.2 00.0 0.00 00.2 each time you check a cap it makes a click sound.

Are you using Volts DC? It is sounding like the plasma panel is shorted, which is not good...

Now all of them are reading 00.3 on DCV 200

This is with TV turned on? You get that 170V as before?

yes,I did turn on the unit. what I did was I have both left and right boards PD and PH still pluged in and nothing else. Should I disconect PH?

PD is the circuit board whichis on the left and has CN7 on it. which is connected to the 4 caps
PH is the circuit board which is on the right side of the unit .

Yes, plug in the boards. TV -MUST- be off while doing this or plasma panel could fry.

Sorry, what I meant is the TV should be off while disconnecting or reconnecting, but you need to test while it's on.

not sure what you mean by brown connectors. Any plug in type connectors I have are all white. PD and PH have brown wires with white plug connectors are the brown connectors the ones that have the ribbons plugged in them?

OK, so PSU is not working right. That's good, something which can be fixed.
Is there any Va label on PSU itself? Near 170V output? It may be generated separately...
