I dont know how to post pics feom my phone so I will include a link to my craigslist posting with pictures.
I just got this tv off of craigslist. After about an hour and a half of watching it the picture turns to fuzziness. The figures are very splotchy and distorted. Their are halos around peoples bodies. Any ideas of what the. Problem is and a fix?

Is it sudden? Or does it slowly occur?

It starts to occur slowly and then got worse quick.

One of the pics I posted was of the TV working an hour before and then one of the outcome

I doubt it will fix it but this procedure has cured it when it occurs continuously (i.e. straight from power up.)

No it didn't work. Wouldn't even come up with a k....just powers on

Just to check: Does this TV have a power LED and an "OPC" LED?

Yes, the power light is on, the opc light comes on when I turn the option on.

It mentions a service mode, but I can't see anywhere on how to access it??

Ones I have fixed a 32D43U by tightening the boards mounting screws. They were selling new screws with washers as a kit.
Not saying that it's the same issue, just an idea.

refer to my "Factory Resets" thread and try the Sharp reset methods. They will take you into service mode

Dont really know what to do once in the service mode...the earlier information about doing eepclearb wasnt a menu item nor being able to switch it in to euro version. Anyone think its the physical parts causing the problem?

Can we see a picture of the service menu?
The service manuals I linked may have more information about reset.

Obviously that information I gave is only valid for some Sharps... it probably won't work on yours, though mine looked exactly like the photo, just it was always there.

Is there an overall menu where they are listed or just one after another? Any sign of any reset options?

Found this... any sign of "INDUSTRY INIT"?

Move the cursor to the [INDUSTRY INIT (+Cause)] line.
Using the [VOL+/-] keys, set this item ON and press the
[ENT] key.
