Set about repair and found replacing capacitor 2508 in 9 volt standby circuit cured problem. The capacitor was 100mfd 16 volts. It read 92 mfd on capacitance meter. After this fault i ordered an esr meter. The capacitor did respond when heated.Psu number 3104-328- 42741 Psu number 3104-328-42742 is almost identical.

Re: phillips 42pf7520d/10 plasma
Yes an esr meter is the most useful thing to own next to a multimeter.
The one from peak electronics in buxton is superb , i have the one with
audio beeps which is a nice feature. The dual readout for capacitance and
esr is just fantastic. Without an esr meter any technician will waste time.
I used to miss lots of faulty caps years back when i just used a capacitance meter.Comment

Tom 66 and Techstar. Thanks for your comments. Did not expect a response as no troubleshooting to do.Something I wanted to tell Tom. Had two Sharp LC32D44E/BK around for some time.Saw your diagnosis on forum and those two sets now working. Thanks, RonComment

Red/Green/Blue cloudy pixels? Yes, I am very proud of that fix. I want to get more of similar models. Probably the easiest fix in the world. Bought TV, took it apart, found Sharp Service Tip, and it was working...Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Tom 66-In my last post tried to keep words to a minimum.Should have mentioned what fault my televisions had.My sets had CCFL faults. Your work regarding my sets, I thought was very good.Cloudy pixels i have no knowledge of that fault at all.Does sound like a very interesting fault.Comment

by chth96I read EBOOK of Testing Electronic Component and found that
"In order to test the small blue resin coated ceramic disk capacitor which has 104 50v specification,it is possible to test this small ceramic capacitor by making use of analogue meter.
Set to times 10Kohm that has 12v output from the probe to check disorder of ceramic capacitor.
It is not uncommon that testing result of digital capacitance meter is okay,But It show shorted reading when you check it with analogue meter."
Is it really possible to test small ceramic disc capacitor with analogue...-

by sam_sam_samI have had with regular AA batteries that leak this meter is expensive new I already replaced the battery battery clips once and the same thing happened again and I am tried of so it is getting modified to accommodate lithium ion batteries that are the same size excluding the positive terminal and removing the battery clips I will have enough room for the BMS protection board
I going to put 3 lithium ion battery in parallel with the BMS protection board and a way to charge the battery externally and heat shrink the battery pack and use a JST connector so I easily remove the battery... -

I want to change the scale of an analog meter, to monitor the charge of an li-ion single cell, so the needle at the end would point 4.2 volts and the 0 on the meter would point 2.5 volts or so, i tried to add diodes or a zener in series with the meter but the changes of the ambient temperature also changes the voltage value on the meter
I wonder how i can accomplish this so the meter would be precise at any temperature ?

by sam_sam_samAbout a month ago we had a transformer jumper wire that burned in two different places between two transformers caused over $200 thousand dollars worth of damage to VFD drives at least 10 of them and a memory card and quite a few power supply as well
Now we have most of the equipment that got damaged back up and running except a feeder that has issues and we are waiting for some parts for
Now we also have another piece of equipment that was blowing fuses on the 110 volt controller switch circuit with the āEā stops and one switching power (24 volt) supply and a transformer... -
by Uranium-235Customer said if he keeps it on for a long time, turns it off, and later back on, it takes 10 minutes to get to proper brightness. Is this just a cap issue? I didn't have time to take it apart I was just there to drop a repaired laptop off
