    Vizio XVT553SV Powers up/audio/no vid.

    Good-day,
Have been reading all afternoon. seems to be a common problem.
However i cant find service manual or schematics for this model.
alot of good info here. unfortunately not for my model.
any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Vizio XVT553SV Powers up/audio/no vid.

    Update,
Visio XVT553SV TV turns on, BackLight comes on. Audio works fine. Channels change, Just no Vidio.
From what i've been reading it may be a faulty Cap. or voltade regulator.
I have done a visual inspection of the caps. no visual damage (no cap. tester)
    so i cant realy tell.
As far as the voltage regulators go. I'm at a loss. cant find service manual, spec.sheet or schematics for this model.
If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.
Here is a pic of the open TV & the power supply. all board numbers are above them.
    Thank you & Happy Hollidays.

Include a close-up pic of the main and TCON.
Check the fuses on those boards.
We can point out the regulators with the pic.
I'm guessing you know the channels change because of the change in audio?

There's a white fuse, gold caps, on this image:
          https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...8&d=1356289078
          near the connector.

Check what voltage you get on both ends relative to the chassis.

There's another one a little further down the board.

A digital meter is pretty much necessary for LCD TV diagnosis. If you can borrow one it will help greatly.

the other one is 5.9 on one side & 5.11 on the other

Somehow power isn't reaching that first fuse. Can you get a closer in focus shot around that area? I'm trying to see if that fuse is the main T-con power or just some other function on the t-con that isn't working.

OK, that's fine for my purposes.

So the point VIN is next to one of the fuses, what does this measure? At the moment I think it measures 0.3V but if you have 5V elsewhere on the board that is not correct.

OK, so it is the main board at fault, we need to figure out why. Can you post a clear shot around the main board area where that connector goes to.

need the LCD panel number on the sticker so I can look up the LCD panel spec sheet which will tell us the pinout of the T-CON connector.

Regardless of the setting it outputs the sound to both the L&R audio jacks. In the Mono R position, the audio output level is normal (from both the L and R audio output jacks), in the Stereo position the audio output is about half the volume, and in Mono L, it's about 3/4 the volume. Something about putting it into Stereo mode is causing the volume to drop significantly and I can't figure it out.

The player processes the audio signal using two different reference frequencies. The "R"...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hello, everyone. A neighbor was throwing this TV away for "not turning on" so I asked for it and they gave it to me for free since Vizio gave them a new TV under warranty.

I'm pretty proficient with electronics in general but this is the first TV I've ever tried to fix. I strongly suspect bad LED lights but figured I'd post some info and see if those of you more experienced with TVs can confirm my suspicion before I move forward. Some photos and measurements below:

The power supply only has two outputs, one output cable going to the main board and the other...

Vizio E320-A1 Powers on But No Display

                                          Hi All,

I have a Vizio E320-A1 which lost sound and picture. The power LED comes on and stays on but nothing else works. I am not able to power it off unless I unplug it.

Here are the voltages when the power is on

                                          1 - 5.25
                                          2 - 5.25
                                          3 - 0
                                          4 - 4.8
                                          5 - 25
                                          6 - 25
                                          7 - 0
                                          8 - 0
                                          9 - 0
                                          10 - 12
                                          11 - 12
                                          12 - .9
                                          13 - .5

Can someone let me know if the issue is with the mainboard?

                                          Thanks...

Hi All. I had a Roland KR-3500 Digital Piano (similar to the KR-4500) that exhibited a Crackling audio sound on all keys. After reading somewhere about someone with a similar issue who had replaced all the Electrolytic caps I decided to also go down that route. (Spoiler : It worked !) After some basic troubleshooting I determined that it could be noise feeding thru from the Keyboard scanning since the Demo tunes played back undistorted and the Audio amp / speakers were fine ( Inserted an Audio signal into the rear Audio input). After extracting the main board from the shield, I replaced 7 Capacitors...
