Re: lg 32lg3000 white screen faint picture

I know on some of these LCDs there is a potentiometer (little adjustment) which can sometimes cure this. It's usually visible through the metal frame. Any signs of one?

not that i can see, You said about the 5v supply from the main board, That must be on the socket at the top as that is the only link i will see if it is marked up as my photo does not show it

              No luck getting a datasheet.

It may be panel failure, the T-con has been ruled out.

See this video -- tab bonds maybe.

Re: lg 32lg3000 white screen faint picture

had the panel out all ribbons on ok all back now still the same, so does having 12v at the t-con fuse rule out the main av board and the t-con board ,the puffy caps on the av they would not be a problem then any thing else i can try thanks for you help with this

Re: lg 32lg3000 white screen faint picture

The AV board is unlikely to cause the distortion shown.

The T-con is the main suspect, but you replaced it. It is possible you got a faulty part. Can you exchange it for another?

it was the same with old board so i think the problem must be elsewhere,I forgot to say the av board has a red led that is on all the time would you know if this is wright or not,

Re: lg 32lg3000 white screen faint picture

The LED might be a power indicator.

I would try and exchange the t-con just to be sure. I cannot think of another board which could cause this fault, other than the LCD itself.

I thought the t-con decoded the information from the av board to the lcd panel

It also provides the drive voltages to control the pixels: +15V, +25V and -8V typically.

were do these drive voltages come from if there is only a 12v supply to the t-con board

They are generated on the T-con board.

Hi Tom thanks for sticking with me on this i have been reading though the posts for the dynex DX-LCD32-09 that has the same type of problem, he also has changed the t-con with no luck but what i did find interesting was the post made by momaka to check the caps near the voltage regulators on the video/logic board as i have bad looking caps in this part of the board do you think i need to change them.

Anything's possible now. Check all the regulators on the main board. If it is the main board, I will be very surprised, but it could be I guess.

Thanks Tom I know i have read how to test the regulators on some post and what the reading need to be but i dont seem to be able to find it give me a clue.

Just list the readings along with the part # and we can tell you if they are OK.
