I have a Diode marked T2D 85 It came out of a Magnavox power supply and test open both ways. But I can't seem to find information on it to replace it.

Re: Identify this Diode
That is used as a clamping or an avalanche diode, It will always test open.
It is probably fine.
SA1 is a Zener diode.Comment

Re: Identify this Diode
zener should test open one way and closed the other, are you using diode mode on your DMM?Comment

Re: Identify this Diode
SA1 looks like Gas Discharge for surge protection. It's sitting next to those blue X/Y Safety caps.
T2D 85 is similar construction as shown in PDF, it has back to back diodes inside.Attached FilesLast edited by budm; 11-15-2012, 01:56 PM.Never stop learning

Re: Identify this Diode
I am using the diode test on a DMM and both diodes test open in both directions. I found and replaced 3 bad mosfets on the power supply, but still not getting stand by voltage.Comment

Re: Identify this Diode
Can we see the picture of this power supply (both side of the board) and where the Diode is, the T2D 85 is probably part of the snubber circuits.
The SA1 gas tube will read open, pictures of the bottom side of this diode location?Never stop learning

Re: Identify this Diode
did you change the start up caps? or test them?
Budm, I believe you are right about the gas discharge, I just have not seen one like that. Looks like a axial cap symbol on the board :S

I would do ESR testing outside the circuit.Never stop learning

Re: Identify this Diode
OK will try that, I'll take the caps out then test them.
Thanks everyoneComment

by Francesc V.Hi:
I have what it might seem a zener diode. It's marked as E57, but I haven't found any reference that might match my observations.
I've took one from the same circuit and tested isolated with the power supply and a 1k resistor. with 10V, the possible zener stays at 6.6V.
It seems a SOD123 package. It measures (2.6mm x 1.6 mm).
Any idea? it's a 6.6V zener?

by klynstronicHello. Could you help me identify the code for this component marked .11?
It belongs to the BMW X1 automotive gear selector circuit....-

by hobostoveHey there guys. I've got a Corsair power supply that's come across my bench dead. I usually don't mess with power supplies, but it's a slow week so I'm giving it a whirl.
Taking it apart I heard a screw rattling around inside, and when I got it apart I found a couple blown components near what I think is the 5VSB area.
There's a 22ohm resistor that's melted and open, but it still has the bands.
The other part is a zener diode and it's top went to jesus, so I can't read the marking.
It looks like the diode connects the source and drain of a TNY284... -
by GentianI am not able to identify this element marked A22020. Some short indexes suggest it is a n-channel mosfet or a pnp transistor. I measured it and it looks to have only a very small capacitance between pins 2 and 3. Any suggestion would be very important. In my experience whatever it should be a dead component. The device is a level radar which looks no current consumption although 12V and 3.3v are ok at MCU and in the circuit but no data transmission?...

by jjneHi,
I have a small number of monitors based on the above panel and am working through them. I have at least two with a single, burned-out diode. From what I can see it's something like DI428 or DII428 or DH428. Here's a picture of a working one.
Can anyone identify this please? Based on the number 428 it may be a shottky or a Zener according to Google. The device in question is D105.
ETA I can confirm that the number is definitely 428 (I took a video which revealed a better image), the DII appears to be a maker's mark. There's also a code 1G. Looking around...1 Photo-
