You could weld them back together. If you were really, really careful. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

I've built my own heatsinks before out of big sheets of aluminum
To add to the topic, yes, those were crap caps you got.Muh-soggy-kneeComment

Re: No Standby voltage 26" Sabre LCT260BKA
hey, I'm new to this, but have a similar problem. When I plug in my TV, the light doesn't turn on. In looking at the power supply, I replaced all of the obviously blown capacitors on the right hand side, as well as, after reading this post, the "start up" ones indicated, one of small ones which was apparently blew slightly out of the side.
after replacing these, however, my problem persists. What should I do next?
Thanks!Comment

You have the same exact and exact same boards used in your TV?
It is best to upload good clear pictures of YOUR boards and the whole backside of the TV so we can see all the boards.Never stop learning

Re: No Standby voltage 26" Sabre LCT260BKA
In looking at this thread, it seems to be 4 years old, is it even worth trying to repair this tv, which is, itself, almost 9 years old? I like it because it's 1080p and I've had no problems with dead pixels or anything, and don't really want to buy a new TV when my fiancee has a much nicer (and larger) one that I will be able to use in about a year (and we don't need 2 TV's)Comment

Re: No Standby voltage 26" Sabre LCT260BKA
"sorry, what i meant to say is the light turns on, but the TV doesn't turn on with the power button" So after replacing the startup cap in the standby power supply section now you do have 5VSB?
Which one of these is your power supply board? You need to look at the barcode sticker as shown in SJ site.
http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsear...ult/?q=MLT666B
Unless you want to learn about repairing, the 26" off brand is not really worth anything if it will need lots of parts to get it going.
BTW, did you also replace the caps under the heatsink? It is bad design to put caps inside the hot heatsink.Never stop learning

Re: No Standby voltage 26" Sabre LCT260BKA
I have currently replaced the circled caps in red, including the ones under the heat sink (which i took off and put back on) with identical or higher spec (the blue one was the only one in which i didn't replace it with the exact same. same uf, but higher voltage, which research led to believe was OK) . I am not sure how to test if i have "5vsb" - but I do have a multimeter, so if you can describe how to test I will follow instruction. When i connect everything together, I get power to the led "on light" (red, standby light. when the tv used to work, it would turn on and the light would go green)
re: the board is a megmeet MLT666 rev. 2.5.
it shares the same code as below
http://www.shopjimmy.com/megmeet-mlt...pply-unit.htm#
but the pictured one has rev. 2.8.
I actually am interested in learning to repair, but if it is not even close to cost effective /extremely time consuming i can figure something else out. However, I am enjoying the learning experience, so i'm willing to sink another 20$ and/or 3-4 hours into it.Last edited by smattin1; 04-08-2016, 04:41 PM.Comment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

I have a few standby voltages that are 0, as seen in the picture. Is the Panasonic chip broken? In the picture I have all my voltages.

This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.
Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today.... -
