well I may have killed it good now. I was testing voltage at the regulators and may have shorted out something. now the front LED IS OFF and when I plug in the power the speakers pop. also the F3A fuse is blown.

You may be lucky; check both ends of the F3A fuse to ground, and if they're greater than about 10 ohms, replace the fuse. If your probe just slipped, it likely only blew the fuse. The PSU was probably fine (it is nearly impossible to break a TV PSU by slipping the probe -- the power supplies are short circuit protected); you should test the old one.

I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering what became of this. Did you ever fix the main board issue? Did you replace the main board? Did you ever get this set working again, or is it headed for the trash?
I picked up one of these sets with the same issues all the way down to the last step. I found I could turn mine off and back on with the power button but if I allowed it to put itself to sleep then it would not come back. In which case I have to let it sit for an hour before it will come back on.
Please tell me you found a solution. I would really like to know if you replaced the mainboard in this. Thanks.Comment

I just got one of these JVC/Vizio made panels. I have 5v but no 12v. Was this determined to be a mainboard issue?
I see there are EEPROM available and one of the causes could be tv will no power on. Mine sits with the red LED on and no change with remote or hitting the power button.Comment

I'm stumped on this guy, so wanted to see if anyone has any further ideas:
Intro:
This is an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-55M1 with unknown prior history (bought "as-is" on eBay). It charges the battery and powers on from both AC adapter and battery, so I think this rules out main power issues.
Upon attempt to boot, it will "reboot" (meaning powers down and then powers on again) only once, and then stays stuck in a status of lights on / no post / no monitor. Powering on with fn+esc maxes out the fans on first boot attempt,... -
I have a samsung QN82Q70RA powers on then powers off. Using some info on the interwebs. I disconnected main board from power supply and backlight shows blue and stays on indicating power supply is good. So next I unplugged one on the lvds cables that connects to screen( I think other side goes to tcon board?) i can get a blue screen and if I press the picture button on the remote i get rain sounds and birds chirping. A lot of videos suggest using kaptan tape to cover the clock signals, but I've been unsucessful there.

A few months out of warranty and it's dead as a fart. XPS 8950 with a 12th Gen I5, 32gb DDR5 RAM and a GTX1650 GPU.....
Symptoms it's giving are really making a coin toss between bad motherboard and bad PSU....I'm leaning toward motherboard, but there are some strange irregularities with this piece of shit system.
Basic test:
Upon connecting power cord, system powers on by itself (no button push) for a second then powers down...and then powers back on again, I hear a relay trip inside the PSU, and then powers down again and that's it. It won't do anything else.... -
Hi all — I’m trying to diagnose the plate amplifier from a Definitive Technology BP7006 tower.
Symptoms:
- The amp powers on (red light illuminated)
- No subwoofer output
- Main towers still play normally through my receiver
- No audible hum or noise from the sub section
What I’ve done so far:
- Verified fuse continuity
- Visual inspection: no burned parts
- Confirmed speaker driver reads ~5Ω DCR
- Board ID: LT-C126 (stamped on the PCB)
- Cap glue confirmed factory adhesive, not leakage
