    Re: Vizio M470NV - Blinking logo

    So now that I have most likely blown a fuse or worse, is a resistance test across a fuse enough to see if it is good?

    TV will no longer power on the standby and I get nothing on the supply

    (I arced the power, I think it was high though, 165 instead of 145 rated)

          Anybody ever find out how to fix this problem? I don't personally have this problem but I know someone who does. I'm advising him whether or not to buy a new one instead.

              most likely the main board is the problem.

                Re: Vizio M470NV - Blinking logo

                We have seen a few different reasons for main board failure since we started offering a repair service for them about 4 months ago:

                1) HDMI multiplexor Sil3985CTU is one of the, sometimes along with surrounding components;

                2) Flash NAND IC U6 can get corrupt and cause all kinds of problems from totally dead TV (we've seen an IC with all blocks being bad straight off the board) to issues like failing to start the Vizio apps. The later suggests it doesn't have built-in checksum check otherwise it would not be starting up at all when there's a corruption in any actively used partition where firmware is stored;

                3) We've seen a few cases where the main processor has gone bad or solder joints corroded to it.

                On top of that there are at least two boards where we're still not knowing what has failed.

                Of all the three above the HDMI processor and the firmware IC are relatively easy to replace, but reasonably hard to diagnose and know with certainty that this is what is needed.

                Both are available from various distributors, including ourselves.

                We also have the main processor, not sure if it is listed for sale since replacing it is not a walk in the park unless you've been doing this for a living or at least for a reasonably long time with appropriate equipment.
                If you do not then it's definitely wiser to give the board to someone who does.

                Hope this helps.

                  Did anyone ever come to a conclusion on this topic? My TV randomly turned itself off today while it was on (I wasn't in the room to see if it flashed or anything but heard the volume go out) and when I came in it was flashing the logo on the bottom (not on the screen) tried turning off the tv, holding down the power button when it was unplugged with no resolution. I just ripped the back of the tv off and now I'm lost with what I'm looking at.... any help would be great.

                      I have used the search, and am stumped.

                      My Vizio M65-C1, Vizio logo appears for about 10 seconds then goes off.Power LED blinks 15 times then the TV powers down.

                      I have read through many threads on the M65-C1 including the following threads. I feel like I must be looking right past the solution to my problem:

                      by Super360
                      Ok so here's the story. I was watching tv one day when all of a sudden I heard a pop from the back of the tv set and rushed to unplug the set. By this time the tv already had smoke coming out the back. It was not storming or inclement weather that day to cause a power surge to the best of my abilities. When I opened the tv up, I found that the three capacitors on the psu (highlighted in red) were all bulging and looked they had exploded. I replaced all of them right away and when I went to start up the tv after the "fix" it started just showing the flashing vizio logo as soon as power...

                      Vizio V555-G1 stuck on wallpaper; now stuck on V logo
                      by x_orange90_x
                      I just got this tv today and it's getting stuck on the wallpaper. When I first power it on it goes to the V logo, then a black screen for about 15 seconds, then a Chromecast error for just a few seconds, and then finally to a wallpaper. It stays frozen on this wallpaper and does not respond to anything on the remote besides power on/off. Likewise the buttons on the tv do nothing either (besides power). I did the "reset" by holding the volume down and input buttons together for 10 seconds. It showed a message at the top of the screen saying it was Wiping Data and would restart soon. After...

                      Vizio D32f-E1 Powers on, has backlight, won't boot/no logo, no menu or video
                      by JaquesPratt
                      I have a Vizio D32f-E1 LCD TV that does NOT have a TCON board.

                      This TV recently went through some 'death throes' and now won't boot. The first problem that began to manifest was while watching tv, the screen would 'freeze', and the image would dim over a few seconds until it was very dark. HOWEVER, the audio of the show would continue as normal. I could power off the TV for 5-20 seconds, power back on, and the video would be normal. This would occur 1-3 times when the TV was first started, and would not happen again after the TV was 'warmed up'. Not ideal, but this glitch was manageable....

                      Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                      by Tynan Dill
                      I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

                      Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

                      I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

                      The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

                      With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                      Assuming...
