    Philips 60pl9200d/37 Sunburn / spots??

Hello. New to the site. I need help with my picture on my DLP. Red light for lamp came on recently and I ordered it and changed it. This did not fix all my problems. The picture was getting "ghost spots" or I will call it "sunburn or hot spots" mostly on bright images, sort of like a halo around bright images. The worst "sunburn spots" seem to be on people's faces when watching a program, the foreheads and cheeks have very bright areas. This same kind of thing will also happen when the "TV Show" I'm watching goes to a scene at night, but the opposite will happen and I will get dark purplish/ greenish shadows or blurring spots in the darker areas of the screen or on the actors. These spots and shadows move with the objects and are not stationary.

I can also see lines moving up the screen, they seem to effect the blurry or bright spots a little, making them change color as the lines move.

In the picture of Obama, you can see the "sunburn" on his face.

In the second picture you can see the "sunburn" on the face, but also look above his head in the red area, you will see a discoloring "orange dis figure"

I could not get a picture of the dark spots to show up on camera.

Do I need a new motherboard? need help!

Thanks, is that something fairly easy to replace? I am not a TV technician, but I'm pretty handy. Where is this part in the TV?

Generally that board is in the middle of the TV.
Make sure to swap the DLP chip off the old one to the new. (That'll be under a big heatsink - it's much like replacing the CPU on a motherboard)

I would suggest following the removal procedure from the technical service manual of your model set, there maybe some adjustments to the replacement board

It could simply be a dirty lens/mirror?

Did you check the video I linked to?

You couldn't guarantee a Toshiba formatter would work with a Philips.

Yes I did look at your video, you make it look easy! I also got my service manual to see if there were any other items I might need to do.(which did not show anything on how to clean the glass or convex mirror) On a scale from 1 to 10, how hard would this be for someone that has never done it?

Not my video . I don't work on DLPs.

The guy seemed to be able to do it fairly easily.

Well if it does become the DMD board, you would need to look at the existing board and match it via part number.

Ron, you seem to be correct about the DMD board. My question is what skill level is needed to replace this board. I'm getting quotes of 250 dollars to replace the board only. This does not include the part cost. I'v already replaced the lamp and I'm getting to the point that the cost is more then what the TV might be worth. But...that being said it is a lot cheaper then tiring to replace with something the same size.

Are their step by step instructions somewhere? I did down load the service manual for my tv but it does not seem to have instructions to do this.

                        Your help is greatly appreciated!

Changing of this board will require removing of light engine and to insure proper alignment you would need set of test Pattern files to align the light engine back properly. It's very labor intense, which should be performed by Tech which has had DLP experience repairing these type sets I'll attach my copy of training guide.

                              Hey everyone,

the picture on my philips monitor looks way too bright so that black appears grey and colors also seem too bright.

While i tried to tilt the screen a little bit while it was displaying a picture, i´ve noticed, that there appeared some purple pixels. In the following picture
you can see them on the top half of the photo.

At a certain point during the tilting, the picture looked normal again but as soon as i laid it back down, the purple pixels were gone and the picture was bright again.
                              ...

There are a few bright spots on the screen. I checked on youtube and most probably they are caused by the led lens fell off and can be fix by gluing back the lens.
But one of the bright spots is actually a bright ring (circled in red as shown on the attached photo). That means a bright spot with a dark center. What is the cause of that bright ring and how to fix it?...

                              Hello, guys!

The same 32" Philips TV I was having video issues, but now I don't have standby led at all. Someone here shared with me the schematic of the power supply, and checking the voltages, I see right after the resistor R604 I'm getting 1.6 v which is too low for enabling the Gate of the Q601 mosfet (the diagram says 4.2). On the R614 resistor I'm getting 181 V in and 117 V out, then through R603 I'm getting the same 117 V in and 59.9 V out, finally getting the latter voltage in the R604 BUT getting just 1.6 V out, which is the voltage that goes on to the Gate of the Q601...

Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo, it does not reboot it just stays on the logo.

It does power up when pressing the power button.

I already try the power button while plugin the plug with no result.
Also put the latest firmware autorun-TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000.upg on a MBR/FAT32 USB stick at USB port2 with no result either.

Could this be an PSU or eMMC issue ?

PSU had a bulging cap (470uF 25V). Likely AC/DC bridge rectifier filter. Have seen a ton of 470uF bridge rectifier filter failures on a bunch of difference devices (not just TVs) Stock up on 470uF 25v 35v

2nd thing worth of note is after all the work to replace edge lit LEDs. Discovered 2 LEDs with phosphor coating differnce produing slightly differnet color temp. Result on edge lit TV = dark veritical band Can't detect when testing the LED bar along...
