    Sony KDL-40V2500 inverter transf. question

I have found this transformer's secondary with a much higher value then the rest of the transformers(3.6K rest and this one at 27k).
I have ordered one(used) from plazmafix.com(the only one that I have found on the net) and I can't measure the 3.6k resistance at the secondary out of the circuit.
It could be that I have got a bad one or the other ones would measure the same way out of the circuit?
I would like to be sure if this part is defective or not before I complain about it.
I have posted some pictures. Do you guys agree with me that between the circled pins is the secondary winding?

It does look like the secondary. And on the other trafos, you were getting 3.6k between those pins? I imagine these transformers are pulls from scrapped boards as there would otherwise be no source for them.

It certainly looks right,BUT, I would take out one of your good ones and then retest...better safe than sorry...

Re: Sony KDL-40V2500 inverter transf. question

Yes, on the rest of them I'm getting 3.6Kohm.
I was thinking of removing one, but on the secondary side it's nothing connected except two "blue" round capacitors.
If those two pins are the secondary, it should measure something right? It shows OL.

Do the transformers have a part number?. Checked the pin for Lacquer.
Can you try and get a reading on the actual wire instead of the pin just in case its just
not connected. Again you would need to scrape off the lacquer - very carefully!!
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

I wonder when that transformer was removed from the board and sold it to you, they were not being careful when they removed it from the board, as you can see, the wire on the secondary side is VERY FINE wire.

Good point on testing the wires them selfs. The pins on the traf. were all bent when I have received it. Maybe the wires are broken off from the pins because the Lacquer doesn't allow any sliding of the wires.
The part number is A841. There are these numbers on one end of the traf and some others on the other end. The A841 matches, but the other ones are not, I hope they don't matter. The traf designation I have seen on the net it was mentioned only as a A841.
I will look more closely and report back.

                TV is running, yeahh!
I made a mistake assuming that those two pins were the secondary winding pins.

But those two pins on the top are connected to the Ballast caps on your board, I can see the traces running to the transformer in your picture, NO? It has two secondary windings on the side and primary windings in the middle section?

The way initially I circled the pins were no reading at all. This way shows 1.1Kohm both ways and when soldered all in, shows at the connector 3.6Kohm.

Bud, could you please look at the 40" Samsung TV that I have just posted? What is your opinion about it? Mainboard, capacitors?
Most likely I will have to go pick it up any moment now.

I am currently on a troubleshoot of 46” Sony KDL-46BX450 tv. I came back from Washington to Texas on medical emergency and had to leave all my tools up there. All I have is a couple of screwdrivers and a dvm. I wish to ask the community a troubleshooting question. Please forgive stupid questions as meds I am taking produce brain fog.
I have well maintained Sony KDL-46BX450. It went black one day. After turn-on, I get solid green light and Sony logo in screen center for about 1-2 seconds, then black. No blinking LEDs, no hissing. Flashlight test shows screen characters dimly viewable,...

Sony Dav-dz350 no power on secondary
                      by sarry86
Hi guys, I have this power supply which has a problem providing power on the secondary portion, seems like there's no power past the transformers, I checked the PFF4N80 which had shorted and replaced it with a new one, I then checked the optocoupler part and found that the TL341 IC too had shorted out so I replaced it with a new one as well, I measured everything on the secondary side of my power supply and I found a 1N5819 diode shorted, I replaced it with a new one, nothing else seem to have a problem, I am out of ideas, please anyone help me out what should I look after...

                      Sony KDL-46HX850 Can't upgrade/update firmware
                      by dkneyle
Diagnosed this TV as having a failed main board which I've replaced with one from a KDL 55HX850. They are (supposedly) the same board.

Being 'Smart TV' it requires a firmware reboot when you swap out boards such as T-Con or main board. It starts with a black screen and flashing yellow and green LEDS, indicating it needs that firmware boot. The procedure described all over the web is to put the software into the root directory of a FAT32 formatted USB drive and it should load that up once plugged into USB1 port. But not for me. I can see the LED on the USB chip flash for about...
