Good job. Like I said, most people would have not have solved the problem.

So any recommendations for a broken track?

I didn't bother looking up the datasheets for the above because I saw Rubycon and UCC KY caps. Both are excellent series caps and rarely go bad.

Completely OFF TOPIC, but now that the OP's TV is fixed ...

With summer winding down, I'm trying to take advantage of what is left of it so badcaps.net is low on the priority list.

BTW, congrats to the UK for an excellent performance at the Olympics. It is good to see the home country do well.

Glad to see you fixed it and it would have taken me quite some time to find that, if I had found it at all!

Yes - well done- might depend where it is how big the gap it and whether you use leaded or unleaded solder - to be absolutely sure for long term, use a piece of wire.

              Thanks again for help guys.

How I found it was to go into a dark room hold board over a bright light while examining it so you can nearly see through it.

Help with Bush Tv (Vestel 17mb95m Mainboard)
                by FlailingEngineer
Hi, I was recently given a Bush Smart TV by a friend and the main board seems to be hanging on by a thread.

Before we get to that, my first obstacle was figuring out the model number since the back sticker has gone for a walk. Upon taking off the back case, I noticed the following Vestel parts, 17MB95m mainboard, 17IPS71 (what I'd assume is power supply) and a VES420UNVL-3D-S02 display panel. After doing some research I think the TV I have is a Bush ELED42240FHDCNTD3D, based on the matching image here (https://www.manualslib.com/manual/11...td3d.html#manu...

Need help identifying an IC chip on a Bush DAB radio (BD-1801)
                by tyler123456
                Hi,

Not sure whether anyone can help but I'm trying to identify the IC chip in the photo below.

I purchased a faulty Bush DAB radio (model # BD-1801) and identified that an IC chip was blown on it. Unfortunately, I couldn't read the manufacturer name / model number of the IC chip.

I purchased another (working) BD-1801 so that I could open it up to find out the IC details - but the IC chip details are missing (as you can see in the photo.)

Given the two huge blobs of solder either side of it I'm guessing it regulates power(?)

                Anyone...

Sony PS4 slim CUH-2216A power supply ADP-160FR not working after short in PFC
                by modtool
                Dear forum members,
I'm working on this power supply for ps4 slim, that behaves in a similar manner as other cases but I can't find a way to solve the problem.
When it came to me, externally the ps4 had standby voltage, clicking the disc eject button made the triple beep (without disc inside) and cliking on the power button made the blue power light turn on and then all turned off within 1 second.
When I opened it up, I found these components shorted:
                Q6 24N60M2
IC41 1612A (not really shorted but had a hole on it and all pins measured open circuit but the 9th...

                Bush WI-1810 Internet Radio
                by Johnny.p
I recently bought an internet radio Bush WI-1810, it came with a power supply that when plugged in promptly damaged the radio. I discovered too late that the radio was 6v and the supplied adaptor was 12v. The radio still powers on but the wifi is not working. I have attached a few pictures- Image 2 showing the board with damaged component top right labelled U8. There are several other similar components like U9 (image 3) that I'm wondering could be a replacement.
U9 has a code on it S5EJI- I have searched several smd code sites and the nearest I can find is for a mark of S5E -listing shows...

Macbook Pro A1989 820-00850-a not powering on
                by Simplebeans
Hey guys i just got myself a Macbook Pro A1989 820-00850-a 2018, the seller said they had spilt liquid over it and since then it has never turned on.

I am using a Apple 61W USB-C Power Adapter and USB-C Charge Cable and on my USB tester i can see when i plug into the power i get around 5.21V and stays at 0.24amps. I am currently testing disconnected from the battery and only plugged into the USB-C Charge Cable.

When opening the machine I was greeted with corrosion on, in and around, in particular the U3100 (USB-C PORT CONTROLLER XA) and U3200 (USB-C PORT CONTROLLER XB)...
