look at Q880 closely for dammage if it fails realy flacky voltages will be noticed.

It's on the U801 power board
Whatever I do, I consider it a success, if in the end I am breathing, seeing, feeling and hearing!

It is on one of the four corners of the board,I think it is a 5 pin thru hole attatched to a heat sink

Can you circle it on one of these pictures? I have been hunched over the TV for 30 minutes with a magnifying glass and a light trying to find it. All I can find is things that say Q8XXX, no Q880.

I found "Q880A." It appears that this is referring to a heat sink. Also, how did you disconnect the SEINE board?

Here is a picture of it:

                  https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...1&d=1344298458

This sounds exactly like what was said in that other thread

Same TV, Same Symptoms, Same Problem. I think we have found the problem. How do I fix this? What needs fixing? Where do I get the parts?

P.S. We are talking about the Heat Sink, correct?

Re: Toshiba TV not powering on?

Underneath that heat sink that I showed a picture of, and to the left ever so slightly, I found Q880 with no "a" at the end. It probably still refers to the silver heat sink. What could be wrong with it that could prevent the TV from turning on?

Re: Toshiba TV not powering on?

No it doesnt refer to the heatsink - It is a component that is under the lip of the heatsink
attached to the vertical wall of the heatsink and soldered to the board. Alexanna has said it probably has 5 pins.
You will need to remove the board from the frame then remove the heatsink and the component to check the part number.
I dont think the seine board problem has ever been resolved.
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: Toshiba TV not powering on?

The generic part # for Q880 is STRW6765. When I replace that, I also replace Q860, part # STRZ4479, as they most often seem to fail together, and they are not too expensive. I have had to replace these on numerous units of this model, as the power board has not been available for several years.

Just to be clear, the thing that needs to be replaced is this:

The document that you provided mentions that this is an overload protector. Does this mean that the problem is over voltage? If it is not, what is wrong with that component?

                                  Yes that is STR-W6765.
On the set i was working on i noticed alot of heat or burning on the solder side of the board at Q880.
