Re: Samsung LNT3242HX/XAA Power Supply Issue

Just an update on my LNT3242H...
After some further searching, I found someone with the same issue who claimed the adhesive used can become conductive as it degrades. So I went ahead and scraped away the adhesive on the resistor/caps (and elsewhere on the board, touching any other leads), and sure enough underneath there's a black scorch mark on the board between the leads of the fusible resistor to the small cap. Hard to test the small ceramic cap without removing it, so I tried replacing only the resistor to test it out, and the TVs back in the land of the living!

I know the damage to my TV may not be the same as others, but seeing how this adhesive can cause failures, it does seem likely that's the real culprit. Also, simply put, if the large capacitor was really leaking, it would have leaked in a different direction than up/sideways towards the resistor because of how the board is orientated. In the picture attached, when the board is installed the section with damage would be the top right of the large cap. (ie. rotate the pic 90 degrees counter clockwise.)

Pic included to show the mark on the board once the adhesive was removed. Plus before shot with adhesive still in place.

Hope this is of help to someone else.

Sorry to resurrect a really old thread. Kevin, do you remember where you bought these? I need CM810 and fusible RM801, but I am not sure exactly where/what to purchase.

        Thanks!

Samsung Plasma TV Power Supply Issue
          by lp20th
I have a vintage 2008 Samsung 50” Plasma TV, Model code PN50A550S1FXZA with a power supply part number BN44-00222A. I repaired the power supply board several years ago finding a couple of cold solder joints on the back side of the board and it's worked great up until now. Recently a fried sound occurred with the smell of burnt electronics and the TV shut down. Trying to turn it back on yielded the typical relay clicking with no TV boot up. Upon investigation, removing feeds to the other boards within the TV it was found that disconnecting the logic board from the power supply allowed the...

Samsung Bn4400612b Power Supply issue on Samsung UN50F6300
          by captainKKK
Samsung Bn4400612b Power Supply issue takes out a new 5A fuse on my Samsung UN50F6300, without any the BL or main board cables connected. Please advise if this board has known issues and fixes. There are no evident fried components and the caps look ok. Nothing unusal on the bottom side of the board under magnification. Is the ICM801CS under that heat sink a known issue? SJ (https://www.shopjimmy.com/samsung-bn...-1473373576096) out of stock, so component level repair may be my best shot. Thanks.

Samsung BN44-00262A H37F1-9SS power supply help finding blown value components!
          by cheeky2
This Samsung combined power supply and inverter was replaced a while ago from a Samsung 37inch LE37B530P7W TV. However I would like to repair this one.
I have replaced the Mosfets Q1820 and Q1821 ( FDPF7N50U) which were both blown and the fuse FM802S. The schematic for this power supply that is attached doesn't relate to this power supply as the driving transistors and diodes are D1830, D1831, D1832, D1833, Q1811 & Q1810 are nowhere on the schematic!
Does anyone know what the components for D1830, D1831, D1832, D1833, Q1811 & Q1810 should be? I ask as I did change the Mosfets...
