Sharp LC-C5262U Power & OPC Lights Blinking

So my problem is that I get POWER and OPC blinking lights. The TV will not power on. When I plug it in I get a click,.. then a few seconds later it clicks and I get these lights: POWER & OPC blinks twice, then OPC blinks 3 more times.

I had a sharp technician diagnose the tv. He tried a bunch of different codes on the keypad, until the last one finally worked, and we got sound, it looked like the backlights on the sides still worked, but the screen was black and not even the menu would come up. Once he saw that, he said it was the main-board. They wanted 500 for parts and labor to fix it.... Just not worth it, so I decided to try and fix myself. I build computers so this does not look that much different.

I bought a main-board on ebay (DUNTKD934FM02-V0) (KD934 Ver 4) I installed that and powered it back on, but no luck,.. I got the same blinking codes. My next thought is the smaller Tcon LCD Controller board. DO I have to reset the TV once I installed the main-board? Is it still in a protect mode or something?

Any thoughts? Why do I think I am going to end up replacing all the boards and still not have a working TV?

I downloaded two different service manual PDFs online and I really don't see much useful info on diagnosing using the keypad codes while plugging in (ie; volume, channel power button, etc) Does anyone have a listing of all the different key combinations that can be tried to diagnose the TV?

Thanks in advance for any info!

Was the description on the mainboard EXACTLY the same as your old one?.
Some tvs will reset if you hold the powerbutton in as you plug it in.
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

sharp lcd mainboards are swappable between screen sizes, you can go higher screen, but not lower screen, have you checked to see if the new main board is the EXACTLY the same or higher size screen?sharp mainboards also suffer badly with firmware issues ,if you have upgrade usb port you can re program, you dont have to reset the tv,the board should just drop in and away you go,i highly doubt it is the t-con,every sharp i have fixed has always been the main board, pay particular attention to the boards version numbers as they are different
fixed so far...376 lg lcd tv's,24 onn tv;s,24 panasonic lcd,16 jvc lcd,12 marshall jcm800 amps, refurb of various disco equipment lighting, old style disco decks ,and a flymo!

Re: Sharp LC-C5262U Power & OPC Lights Blinking

See attached pics of the old and the new mainboard from ebay. All the numbers are the same except for the number in the white box which I am told is a production code and will be different on each one (hopefully).

New board from ebay is on left in the pictures below.

Both boards are KD934 Ver 4. The ebay seller is very friendly and is also willing to take back any parts that do not fix the TV. He told me that this board came out of the same model TV I have (LC-C5262U) that had a broken screen.

        This is the ebay item:

For some Sharp LCDs it is CH- and VOL- or CH- and INPUT to reset. (On the TV itself, not the remote.)

Re: Sharp LC-C5262U Power & OPC Lights Blinking

I've tried all the following (all on TV not using remote)

vol + & ch + then POWER. - Nothing,... still blinking the same.

Input & Vol - then POWER - Nothing.... still blinking the same.

Vol - Ch - then POWER. - This is the only time its different.... It clicks on,... I don't get any picture or sound,.. but I do see the LCD back-light come on. It just stays that way until I unplug it. Then I plug back in,.. turn on,.. and I get the same blinking codes again.

Don't know if this helps anyone...

Error code 2-5 on that model is Panel 12V failure. Check for 12v at tcon connector, if missing, check power board. If present, you have a tcon/panel issue.

Re: Sharp LC-C5262U Power & OPC Lights Blinking

Not really sure how to check for power at the boards,... I have a digital multimeter, and I have a friend that can assist me. I posted pics of the LCD controller board,..I assume the grey is the power cable to the board, and the ribbon is the data? Where do I check for power and what setting do I put my muiltimeter on? (Sorry, but I am bit new to this part)

Secondly,.. I unplugged the grey cable to the LCD controller and turned on the TV. No more blinking lights,... It seems like I have back-lights as the screen is lit up in black. I only did this for about 10 seconds as I do not know if I can damage the TV if I leave it on for long periods with boards unplugged. Does the fact that I do not have blinking lights with the controller unplugged mean something?

                Thanks again for any help....

Re: Sharp LC-C5262U Power & OPC Lights Blinking

To me, it suggests there is a short circuit on that T-con board (the small board connecting to the LCD.)

I cannot see any harm in leaving it unplugged; if you connect a source to it and blindly select sources, can you hear sound?

I can not hear any sound,.... I don't know how to change sources I tried using the input button on the top of the TV , as well as the remote... nothing.

Although,.. I turned the TV on with the T-con unplugged and then plugged in the T-con board while the TV was still on. As soon as I did that, the TV clicked and gave me the blinking lights.

I guess it sounds like there is a problem with this board

It was the T-con board. Replaced it and its all good. The original mainboard ended up being ok. Thanks to all for the help!

We have the exact same problem with our television (same model number). What is the part number you used for the T-con module?

@buldogrec, the same model TV can be using different LCD panel, so the T-CON board for your TV may not be the same as your. You should get access to the T-CON and look at the number on the board and also on the bar-code sticker to get exact match.

                            Hello,

I have a Lenovo here that does not want to power on. The motherboard appears to be clean, no sign of corrosion or obvious fried components. When plugged in, I see 3 blinking lights and then off. It would cycle the 3 blinking lights every 10 seconds or so as long as I have the adapter plugged in. Amp meter shows 20 volts, 0.224 amps, no fan spin, red light indicator near the charge port.

Thermal camera shows a section of the motherboard that is warmer than the rest. It is near the connector labels JRTC1 (CMOS battery). Diode measurement to ground for pin 1 = OL,...

Sony XBR-75X950G seems dead with a black screen but backlight and sound is working and no blinking red lights
                            by Audeze
I have a 2019 75" x950g, and while playing a movie, the screen suddenly went dark in a weird way, where it faded towards one corner into being fully black. Now the TV turns on, and the backlight comes on, but there is nothing displayed except black. Sound still comes through the TV speakers, and i have tried doing a hard reset using the volume - and power buttons while plugging the display back in, but it did not fix it. I can confirm that pressing buttons on my remote is still doing "something" because I'm hearing sound still, even though the screen is black.

                            Does...

                            by KevinWysocki
                            Hi there,

My mother in law gave me an Aya TV, to take a look if I could do something to repair it.

At startup, LED constantly blinks and no image is shown (even if I light the screen, broken backlight is not the problem), also +12V power rail is fine.

After some research, it seems that NOR flash often fails on this mainboard, I have found the procedure to force flash upgrading with a USB key connected to mainboard USB port, pressing "OK" button on the remote and plugging the TV power cord.

Flash upgrade didn't seem to work,...

                            by bajdik
Hello, on Sharp LC-40LE830E is everything OK. Working great. If I put the 230 V off and on again, it just blinking white standby LED. I can power on only via VOL- and CH+ and POWER button on TV. After that, I can power off and power on again without problem (by buttons or remote control) until the 230 V is connected. If i put the plug off and on again, just white standby LED blinking. TV needs three button starting again.. On the first look, the backlight looks great, no darker or lighter spots. Any idea what is wrong?

                            by AustinComputerDoctor
                            Hello,

I am looking / wondering if anyone knows where a good firmware download link is for a LC-60LE640U, the sharp support sight says the screen is archived but offers no links.

                            I see backlite is active,

but I cannot get the screen to return back to menus , etc

This is all after replacing the mainboard...

                            any assistance is greatly appreciated.
