Hi part numbers look good. For the 2E one perhaps put up a closeup picture
    someone may recognise something.

Re: Vizio VW42L -No Power/Fuse keeps blowing

Thanks for the data sheet. I have attached a close up pic of the 2E FET. I hope you can recognize this.

I had a dumb question about ordering, I have also attached a word file with my ordering question. I didn't know if i needed to be concerned with the bottom numbers when ordering these?

      Thanks alot

Re: Vizio VW42L -No Power/Fuse keeps blowing

There's definitely a marking below 2E if you look carefully.

        Try this trick:

          ^^ I Agree
We need CSI on this failing that perhaps you could do something with the original picture as it obviously degrades each time its saved. ( That is why I have saved as bmp on this occasion)

I get the attached which looks like it starts with 20 - not a lot of help but gives you the idea - I messed with color depth etc then changed to a negative view.

I have talked myself into believing it could be 20NK50 something

            What does anyone else think.

No they are just manufacture information date, place and factory codes.

                The chalk trick worked.....

Here are the bottom numbers from the Q801 FET that I thought
                just had an (2) (E)

                The bottom numbers are:
                Q801
                20N60C3
                GKE717

I attached a pic of it.

                Thanks alot...

Re: Vizio VW42L -No Power/Fuse keeps blowing

I'm having a little trouble figuring out which one of these I need to order. I have
this one below that jetadm123 helped me find. What is the difference between SPW or STP.
The other 2 FET's started with STP11NK50ZFP that I will be ordering.

                        This one starts with SPW
                        SPW20N60C3
                        http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...C3IN-ND/509556

just curious, I wanted to make sure I was buying the correct item.

                        Thanks again

Re: Vizio VW42L -No Power/Fuse keeps blowing

The "SPW" and "STP" denote the manufacturer. The 11NK50ZFP & 20N60C3 is the critical infromation on the part. A lot of different companies make the same parts.

I know for sure that the ST and SP parts are the manufacturer.
I am not sure about the 3rd letter may be the manufacturers series?

The main part number is the 11NK50ZFP & 20N60C3

Re: Vizio VW42L -No Power/Fuse keeps blowing

Hey guys bad news, I got the new FET's in the mail and I soldered them in. I replaced these 3:

                                Q801
                                20N60C3

                                Q601
                                P11NK50ZFP

                                Q602
                                P11NK50ZFP

I put in a new fuse and when I plugged the power cord into the TV, the fuse blew instantly again. I'm using the same fuse rating only difference is I have a glass fuse and not a ceramic that came in it.

You have any ideas? I will have to remove the power board, I will post some pics later.

just wanted to give an update and see if you guys had any other ideas on what could be going on?

                                Thanks

Are you sure that you are using the correct type of fuse? There are fast and Slo Blo Fuses that have the same specs example: 4Amp 250Volt in each type. Also there are both ceramic and glass types of these fuses.
Have you ever stopped to think and then forget to start thinking again?

                                    http://antiqueradio.org/dimbulb.htm

Get into the habit of using one of those when powering up anything that has had a blown fuse. If something downstream is shorted, the bulb will save you fuses, MOSFETs, and a whole bunch of other parts. Use a 40-60W bulb for small sets and a 100W bulb for large ones. The bulb will always be enough to start the set in standby mode if all parts are good.

Check the MOSFETs that you replaced. You may have the nasty surprise that they're all gone again.

I will double check the fuse's I bought to make sure. They should be slow blow fuses, just glass not ceramic.

Re: Vizio VW42L -No Power/Fuse keeps blowing

I checked my fuses, here is what the marking on them were:

original fuse in TV - T6.3AH250VP (ceramic fuse)

I'm not sure what the "T" in front of 6.3 is and what the "H" and the "P" represents.

replacement fuse from Radio Shack - 6.3Amp 250v Slow Blow (Glass Fuse)

Does the replacement fuse appear to be the same rating as the original?

If they are the correct ratings, what should I do next?

Do I have to un-solder the new FET's and retest them?

I do like the idea of the light bulb to test with, I had a question just to make sure I understand, the other end I have marked in the pic does get plugged into live 110v power and the light bulb keeps the fuses and other parts from failing?
