    OK, if the backlights are on but no pictures, then the voltage at the T-CON board fuse needs to be checked next.

      Thanks for all the help. When I took off the metal cover under the power supply and main board to expose the T-CON board it became obvious that the cable running from the main board to the T-CON board was not fully plugged in to the T-CON board. I replugged it and now the set works great. So I surmise the U33 repair was the original culprit.

            I have the same problem with the same model TV. If I am not an electronics technician, would it be cheaper to replace or have it repaired?
