    Vizio vo42l fhdtv10a - No image

VIZIO VO42L FHDTV10A:stand-by light (orange), power light (white) both work, but no image. I bought a replacement master inverter card and installed it. nothing changed. I have attached a few pictures of my power supply. I do not know the name of the part shown, but there is a bump on each one. Can someone tell me if I need a new power supply. Thank you.

    Those are dipped polyester capacitors.

With lights out & curtains closed, does the screen glow at all?

thanks for the suggestion. with the room void of most light, with the power on (white vizio lcd light on) the screen does not glow at all. i think i wil have to buy a voltage meter to check the power output of the power supply. will post the results soon. thank you

I'm having a similar problem with the same model of Vizio. We do get audio but no picture and no glow. We've removed the back cover of the tv but don't know what to do next. Any suggestions?

I think you need to do some voltage testing first , also look real close at both inverter board to see if the IC controller has blown, very common to this model.
          http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/y...VO42LFHDTV10A/

The inverter boards should be changed in pair and also need to see if they need modification.

I had the same problem with my Vizio VO42L. Audio but no picture. After reading threads in this forum I turned on the TV, shined a flashlight about 2 inches from the screen and could see it was displaying "No Signal". I then picked one of the two main options to fix it. I replaced the main board which did not solve the problem, then I replaced the Master and Slave inverter boards and the TV now works again. I purchased the replacement inverter boards (two long boards on either side with a long ribbon cable attaching them) from coppelltvrepair on ebay for $49. 6632L-0470A & 6632L-0471A INVERTER REPLACEMENT SET - NEW, OEM, WARRANTY
            Item# 110882329800 $49.99 USD 1 $49.99 USD.
            I purchased the main board from Tristatemodule . com for $89. 3642-0482-0150 3642-0482-0150 Vizio TV Module, main unit, 0171-2272-2604, 3642-0482-0395, VO42LFHDTV10A 1 $88.95 $88.95

Also, note that the inverter board set from coppell tv are not original but substitutes that work fine. the configuration is a little different and all you have to do is bend a flap on the cover that goes over the board to get the cover to fit (coppell tells you this on the website too). I recommend coppell tv .

I suspect my original main board may still be good. If anyone would like it and the old inverter boards (for parts maybe) you can have them for the cost of the postage. Just let me know at jjfiorello-triffids @ yahoo . com

That is know problem for these failed LG/PHILIPS inverter boards, I hope your new boards have been updated to prevent them from failing again.

I just fixed this model with bad inverter boards. I found a set from 12 boxes of crap I bought for $80. The boards do not mount up the same, but I could get one screw in each and fit the wires. I took some scrap alum. and drilled holes to mount them. Tv works great. Its been 3 weeks since repair.

I have a Vizio E550i-A0 that will not power on. It also does not display the standby light in the corner. I disconnected the main board cable to see if the backlights would light but they did not (maybe this is normal for this set?). I checked the voltages on the plug and they all read in mV or 0, so there's no voltage there. The fuses are ok, and the voltages of the 450v caps read about 160v. I see no visual damage on either the power supply or main board. I have read online that the main board is usually the culprit in this model, but not getting backlights with the main disconnected makes me...
