Re: Panasonic plasma TH-42PZ80U 2 blink 15v SOS
15V detect LED? where's that?
All I can share is with my PZ800 when it had 2 blink it was a tiny cap, the same cap that everyone talks about and in the you tube video on the MC201/301 modules.
From memory I think 10 blink is MC201, 2 is MC301 but if you were going in there to replace the cap on one, I'd do the other if it was still the original.
When you say goes 2 blinks after switching on, the TV never turns on it just 2 blinks? That's what I had.

Re: Panasonic plasma TH-42PZ80U 2 blink 15v SOS
I have a Panasonic which trips after switching on, and as a 2 blink fault code, the +15v detect led is lit, do I assume correct that it is showing the + 15v is missing.Leave a comment:

My favourites are these
http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...504-ND/2504593
I also recommend some solder wick and fresh solder
http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...-3-5-ND/306982
(You can buy solder from a hardware shop, or a place like RadioShack/Frys.)
You will also need a soldering iron. Ideally one that is temperature regulated - though that may be a big investment for a simple repair like this.
I would recommend removing the small board from the main PSU board, and working on that. Work slowly, there are no awards for fastest repair.
The PSU board is held together with about 40 screws on the back and 8 or so on the front. Then there are about 10 or so plastic clips - it takes a bit of work but the board will come apart - DO NOT FORCE IT, or you can crack the board.
Leave the TV unplugged for at least 1hr before commencing work.Leave a comment:

I have done 7 of these power supplies (6 x 42", 1 x 46") and none of them needed any more than the capacitors replacing.Leave a comment:

wait and see what toms and tw2005 thoughts are too if you want but im my opinion your new board is bad too. I take it you dont want to try to replace the old capacitors on your old psu yourself? How good are you at soldering the points are a little small but the job is doable with patience i have done this repair my self and my sets still working great.
Would I just need to replace the capacitors on both boards or do I need to replace the IC's also as shown in Norcal715 video on YouTube?
BTW...Thank you all for the help so far!Leave a comment:

If you paid by CC/PayPal then I'd first try negotiating with seller to send board back. Clearly faulty board. If that fails then file chargeback or complaint with PayPal.Leave a comment:

Was it this place?
http://panasonic.factoryoutletstore....er-Supply.html
If so i very much doubt Panasonic has anything to do with it, by their own website they're "independent retailer of consumer products"
I'd put a ? on whether it is in fact Brand New.Leave a comment:

Or, in the worst case, there are sellers on eBay doing this repair service for less than $100.Leave a comment:

Re: Panasonic plasma TH-42PZ80U 2 blink 15v SOS
Brand new here with the same problem on my TH-C50FD18. Did not want to risk soldering parts so bought a new PS board from Panasonic Factory Outlet Store online. Swapped out the entire board and I still have the same 2 blink issue. Another bad board or something else causing the problem? I also do not know which location is MC201 vs. MC301? When testing the boards with refrigerant to cool, the one on the left seems to be the problem. Any help is appreciated as I just paid a pretty penny for a "new" board and didn't fix a thing. Thank you!Leave a comment:

Unknown didn't even think they would have put them in wrong the boards were removed to do the repairs. Just looked there the same parts but possibly the ic are installed wrong? I have done 3 or 4 of these Panny's with 10 & 2 blinks really easy usually.Leave a comment:

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Having said that I come to the gist of my post on the forum as the title suggests.

by m1ch43lzmHi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic... -
by sam_sam_samI did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow
This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

by canadaboy25I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.
The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.
I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was... - Loading...
