I have an LG 50px4d, pretty sure it's a write off but it has a good panel. I've just seen a 50PC55 ending on ebay in a few hours with a broken/smashed panel. Assuming the 50PC55 works otherwise, could I just swap the two panels over and have a working TV?

Re: Swapping plasma panels
No it would not work. They use 2 different panels so they are not compatible. The voltages coming off the power supply would most likely not be the same and the wave forms that are fed to the panel through the Y and Z sustains would be different. Also the ribbons connecting the Y-buffers to the panel are different. -
Re: Swapping plasma panels
I have been working on a 42lg30(lcd). I have a few of these for parts and I have seen them with three different panels with three different backlighting systems and also then having three different t-con boards. All had the same power supply and plastic front, rear
panels, speakers etc. That was all they had in common.
These tvs change so much It`s easier to repair the one with the good panel then to risk getting the wrong parts and paying for shipping.Comment

by eccerr0rWell, due to my grid tie inverter not accepting high voltages, and the fact that the lions in my solar panels are 36V (72-cell) I think I need to stick with 72-cell.
However I have a few smaller panels that are 36, 32, and two 30-cell. The 36 and 32 together run at 75% efficiency (and subtract more with additional inefficiencies) when running in parallel with the 72-cell panels. The kicker is that the two 30s... generate 0% power when connected in parallel(!)
So now what to do with these small panels?
I could sell them...
Or I could shim them.... -
by tech9pcWould anyone here know if it would be possible to take the BOE HV550QUB-N4D out of a RCA RTU5540-B I have and put it in a cracked LG UN7000PUB with panel HV550QUB-N4E. I compared the 2 panels on panelbook.com and they are practically identical. Here is the link comparison

I would like to save the LG as it is a way better tv than the RCA. Thanks for any help -
by ArMaaN376Hello,
I am having Samsung PS51E550 Plasma TV. While the TV was working, a crackling sound heard & video went off with audio still ON. After switching it off & ON, the red LED on TV blinks six times & then off.
Opened TV cover & observed foll
a) Green LED on the small PCB blinks at @5-6sec ON & off for 3-4 secs. Red LED on logic board ON
b)Vs & Va on power supply board raises momentarily to 209v & 58v resp & then drops.
c) Cold test on Y-main board shows all 3 pins of FGPF4536 IGBT short to Grnd.
How to confirm Y -Buffer board... -
by jm1234Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults... -
by KYBOSHPicked up a bahemoth plasma TV not too long ago and just now getting around to looking at it.
No picture but you hear the TV static (white noise) playing loud and clear.
The back was already taken off (and no screws were provided) as the previous owner had already taken a look.
But it seems they didn't get too far and just left it.
When I first took a look I was amazed at how pristine the inside looked.
Its as if the TV had been in a time capsule.
Caps looked like they were just pulled off the self.
Copper coils had no sign of corrosion on... - Loading...
