    Mitsubishi HS-E82 VCR Bad Picture

    Good morning everyone.
    This time I have a Mitsubishi HS-E82.
It was a bargain that I found with original remote included.
The problem reported by the owner is that it was working but no output video.
I took it appart and immediately saw that three 470uf capacitors were leaking on the signal board and one in the Hi-Fi board the same value too. I have located them in the pictures in red marker.
I replaced them, cleaned all the liquid remains and the video output got working again.
I saw too that were three surface mounted capacitors, two near the 470uf and one in a vertical board. I replaced them too, they were leaking too.
I replaced one surface mounted capacitor in the drum motor pcb, it was leaking too.
    Now, resuming.
I have video output, vcr menu and tv channels with good picture, if I attach RCA cables to audio input AUX, and a bluetooth receiver I have good Stereo Sound, but no stereo in tv channels nor tape playback. I have the problem you can see in the video that I´ve attached.
I cleaned the upper drum heads, with printer paper and IPA, like I do to my other VCR´s, no luck.
Is this bad worn heads symptoms? Or I need to investigate deeper in the pcb´s for more bad caps?

    Thank You!

    Hugo.

Make sure the tape guides are loading fully to there stops, if they are I suspect the guide posts have become loose or are out of adjustment.
when you play a tape do you get linier audio?
A bad or plugged head would give a poor picture over the whole screen

      Thank You for your answer.
I looked at the timing marks before I look for bad belt, I have the service manual and all were in sync. The tape loads tight to the head drum...
      I thougt that too before...

      Thank You.

If the guides are loading into there V stops, then I suspect the guide posts are loose, It's been years since I worked on these models but I remember some mechanisms where the lower part of the guide would become loose from the slide plate, on others the lock screw would come loose and the guide would turn, Check if the guides are tight or not.
You are getting linier audio and the speed is ok so the tape is tracking the ace head properly so the tape exit guide is likely ok. I suspect the tape input guide is out of adjustment or loose

Also check that the back tension band is ok and that the back tension arm is not too tight or too loose against the tape.

          Thank You again R_J.
I have a JVC where that happened, the lower parts of the guide simply came off, in this case, I checked right now and the guides are all tight.
I have linear audio, but the image looks a bit out of sync with the sound.

          Thank You.

About the only thing that can cause this picture is a tape path problem.

And can´t it be worn heads?

              Thank You.

one head scans the tape and produces one field of the picture from the top of the screen to the bottom, worn heads would not produce the picture in your video.

I managed to find the problem.
It was the tape left tape guide, the screw is very loose and it turned with the tape, managed to tune it and fixed it with thread-lock fluid!
It was more simple than I thougt!

                  Thank You!

Hi guys, I write here for help me. I have a Samsung eu75nu8000. The Tv start to turn off and on, and I understand it was a panel problem, because if I take out a ribbon the Tv stay on. I tried the tape method but I have no picture but the Tv now stay on. My question is I have to give up because it s the panel? I notice that the chip vpm2sm it s really really hot, I can’t stay with my finger on it. Do u think all the problem of my panel is due to this chip, or u think it s a death panel and I can’t do nothing?sorry for my English

T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)

Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

                    Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

                    First replacement T-con:

I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...

IBM LTO 7 Tape Drive - Dust Sensors??
                    by RetroComputingGrotto
I have a Quantum SuperLoader robotic tape library that uses an IBM LTO 7 tape drive which is constantly complaining that it needs cleaning. If you insert a cleaning tape, it performs the clean and resets the cleaning counter to 0 hours. It should only require cleaning every 50 or so working hours but after as little as just 1 hours use it requests cleaning. We've purchased a new cleaning tape along with new LTO backup tapes but that has not resolved the problem.

I have taken the library apart and can see no noticeable signs of dust inside. I have removed the tape drive from the...

                    Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
                    by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and
