If there is a light on and the rest is dead, good chance the EMMC is dead. Read up here on a different IPTV android box that I fixed a few years ago.

I didn't have much opportunity to mess with any, after getting a complete pos Q7 box in prolly 2014, I grabbed the first fire tv box for 70 bucks, worked like a charm ever since, just recently retired it a few months ago, I think the os wasn't compatible with much anymore but the beauty of it being not supported by amazon anymore, meant that the stupid updates weren't always breaking my setup, disabling launchers etc. That box is unusual in that it is completely sealed no ventilation nothing, yet it runs very cool, doesn't even get warm.Last edited by nomoresonys; 10-20-2023, 06:03 PM.Comment

I don’t have any of these android boxes for a long time. I had one that didn’t make 2 years and it died. Even when it worked, I didn’t like on how things worked software wise. Went ahead and replaced it 6 years ago with a mini computer running Linux. Never looked back since and don’t miss the android box at all. That Dreamlink repair came about for a different reason. A lot of people had them and no one figured out why they were dying like flies. To give you an update on that particular Dreamlink T1 that I doubled the size of the EMMC and had reflashed the whole thing: That T1 box is still running! Every day.Comment

Have tried published resets with no help. (unplug for 10, push on-off for 30, push menu and vol +, etc.)
After being plugged in, red light comes on. Push power button and blue light comes on for ~five seconds then goes out. Power button does not turn the unit on a second time - have to unplug/re-plug before power button will try to start with blue light.
No sound, no picture (used flashlight test).
No bulging cap, no burn spots, no burn smells, nothing visual (cold joints/breaks/bugs).

Hi, I am waiting for my uart tool so I can grab an error code and narrow down where my issue is, but I decided to measure capacitors and fuses to insure everything was okay.
The PS5 turns on with a blue light and a beep for 1-2 seconds then turns off. I noticed a grey capacitor measures no voltage on standby or input power. Does this indicate a problem with the capacitor or something down on the line? I’m getting 3.3v on input with the red cap next to the grey one, and 5.2v on input with the red cap further away from the grey cap.

Hello, I'm new to the group and to trying to repair a LCD TV. During the past few years, I've been collecting/repairing/restoring vintage personal computers (Commodore, Apple II, Atari, TRS-80, Texas Instruments, and Timex Sinclair). This has been my retirement hobby. Now I've gotten interested in trying to repair a LCD TV that I have and used regularly when working on vintage computers.
The LCD I'm working on is a Insignia NS-LCD019. I've downloaded the service manual that I could find, but it must be a different revision since not too many items in the service manual match the TV... -
Hello all. Sony XBR-75X800G - Android start up only and dark blue screen. Back lighting works. Music just repeats itself. Remote has limited function. Ive search for model # here but I did not find anything. Thinking its T-con but I dont have what type of numbers Im to have when reading on a MM. Any help would be great. TV is 5 years old. Thanks
