Try this: with TV in standby keep pressed cursor up on the remote then press Power key on the front panel, this will make an hard reset. If this doesnt work, try enter service mode: Display key, 5, Vol+, Power, this with remote, Display is the key that represents an old 4:3 empty screen, then press 8, Mute, 0, this makes the hard reset, to exit turn off tv.Comment

Guys I tried everything u suggested but I cant make the update to start..I cant enter the service mode also when try the combination and after pressing the 5 button on the remote the TV just power on.Comment

Try to look for and select different USB flash drives, it won’t make sense that you found one on 1Gb, you need different manufacturers (with old controllers inside) so that the TV can determine.Comment

Yes, you will also need to update (they have a main + T-con binding), then it’s easier for you to buy a native main + T-con kit the same as yours with the same matrix.Comment

Yes, then it's easier to pick up a usb flash drive with which to pick up the update.Comment

Rather, the board is working, since it needs to be updated, but choosing the right usb flash is problematic for older TV models.Comment

Before each attempt to update, you need to unplug the TV from the outlet and wait 20-30 seconds, then just turn on the power with the USB flash drive inserted.Comment

Look for flash drives from the years when your TV was released, I have a very old Sony flash drive at 512Mb and never had a problem with updating old TVs.
Also, try cleaning the USB contacts on the TV itself (when unplugged) and on the flash drive itself.Last edited by lotas; 03-05-2023, 02:17 PM.Comment

Diagnosed this TV as having a failed main board which I've replaced with one from a KDL 55HX850. They are (supposedly) the same board.
Being 'Smart TV' it requires a firmware reboot when you swap out boards such as T-Con or main board. It starts with a black screen and flashing yellow and green LEDS, indicating it needs that firmware boot. The procedure described all over the web is to put the software into the root directory of a FAT32 formatted USB drive and it should load that up once plugged into USB1 port. But not for me. I can see the LED on the USB chip flash for about... -
Hello everyone.
I replaced the mainboard on a KDL60w685a, and now it blinks green and yellow. I think i need to update the firmware. But it's not available from Sony website.
Does anyone have the firmware for this TV? -
So I bought another main board from eBay and the same thing happened.
I got the firmware file from the Sony website. My model was listed and everything matched.
sony_tvupdate_2011_4027_aaa_auth.zip was the file.
Extracted to a folder: "sony_dtv0FA10A01A0A1_00000301"
with file: 00000301_07e8046a.bin inside.
Loaded it into the root of an otherwise empty USB thumbnail bought from around the same time as the TV. Not too old, not too new.. under 2Gig.
The file reads perfectly. Lots of "disk activity"... -

Docker Type-C Gen 2 - Model 40AS. Was given to me by a friend for free ,but with the problem that you cannot use the video output ports.
All ports work , USB , Ethernet, Type C ... but HDMI + Display Port don't work
I searched on reddit and google for problem similar to that, and a LOT of people had fixed this problem by updating the firmware. So i tried , i searched and found 1.1.13 utility and 1.1.20 utility that can help...
