Good effort - Now move to the socket at the other end of the board.
Same safety conditions apply though tests on lower voltages
Set your meter on vDC200 I cant see any pin marks unless one is a minus sign.

Basically you need to find which is ground ( May well be the one with the minus on)
see if anything goes from there to the negative side of those smaller caps?
No Power to board while your searching.

Then having established ground (switch power back on) put black probe on ground and test each pin on the socket with the red probe.

Heres a pic of the other side of the board. I'm not sure which would be ground?

On the actual connecter, the connection to the pin which says 1, on the connecter says H JST. The second connector says F2. There is also a little x in-between both of these connection points.

The third says 3, the fourth says 4 and the fifth says 5.

            Does this help?

See pic think second pin is the ground. Just check that the joints marked C-
line up with the white stripe on the side of the caps

Thanks again, but not sure which joints marked C you are referring to?

The ones on the bottom side of the board, which say C13, C14 and C15; or the ones on the top side saying CN1, CN2, C1, C2, C4, C10A, C10B, C9, C11, C12?

Sorry just seen your picture, yes they line up.

                        I'll test it like this.

Negative probe on second pin, carefully touch red probe on other pins.

Once its switched off, do I need to touch the long nose pliers to the big cap soldering points. This drains the excess current or something doesn't it?

no, if you do that you get a big bang and damage both the cap and the end of the pliers.

if you leave it a while it should discharge - you can test it later wih the meter to see if it's dropped.
when you do, you set the meter to dc and atleast 400v

I'm not sure if you read the whole thread, but i've done the last test, just not sure if the results are good or bad, and what to do next?

                                      i skimmed over it,
if i could see all the underside of the board i'd know how the connector links up.
but i think it's o.k. or atleast it's not dead.
                                      (obviously)

So basically there's nothing wrong with the power board?

What else would stop the printer not turning on?

Here's a complete pic of the power board:

I was working on this machine yesterday and I now going to use an incandescent lights instead of a fuses to figure out what the issue is with it blowing control voltage rail but this not the only issue the coolant pump failed the meager test as well as the main motor as well this motor has 12 motor wire leads instead of the normal 9 wires

This metal lathe has a weird motor setup it has a soft start motor with a “Y” and a delta type of motor winding setup and it is not done in the motor pucker head enclosure it is with four different contactors wired in a configuration I have not...

Hello all, as the title says, I'm very much in need of a valid firmware dump of a Anycubic Photon 5.5 3D resin printer. It's stored in a Winbond 25Q32, so it's 4Mbyte.

Here's a little background for my request. A few weeks ago I bought this 3D printer from a guy who had moved on to a PLA printer. I got it at a vey reasonable price, as it was in a defective state. The seller told me that he had experienced a power failure during a firmware upgrade, after which the printer appeared to be dead. He thought the firmware was corrupted in such a way that the printer was now bricked. As he...

Brother HL-2140 laser printer: printer error (solved)
                                            by Curious808
SOLVED. I removed the printer in settings, replugged and let it reinstall and it worked this time.

                                            Windows 10

Attempt to print and immediately get a Windows pop-up saying "Error printing". The document appears in the printer queue window with Status "Error-printing".

Turned off printer. Unplugged, waited, replugged. Ran the Windows troubleshooter. Removed and reinserted toner cartridge. Checked for paper jam. No printer error lights. Reinstalled driver. Restarted the Spooler service. Rebooted...

                                            Hello
I have power adaptor(220V/input, 12V 1.2A/output) which has symptom of fluctuating output DC voltage between 11.5V-12.2V.
So I opened its plastic case and when switched it on, I heard constant tik tik sound from inside its PCB.
I measured DC voltage between negative and positive pin of the largest capacitor(400v 10uf) and it was measured contant 300V.
I also measured ESR value of all capacitors and I noticed that one of capacitor(KMG 16v 470uf), which located in the secondary side, have high ESR value(10 ohm),So I replaced it with same specification NXH capacitor....
