Old machine, but was working fine. Was partially filled when water supply had to be turned off. When water went back on, it resumed filling. Someone accidentally knocked the lid and it slammed down. Machine stopped. Now nothing works. Opened up the control console on top, and could see the cycle start switch that's pushed in by a pin on the lid when the lid is closed seems to be moving in and out OK. Pressing the different water level buttons, can hear a click. The big knob for setting cycle and push-pulling for on or off does nothing.
Any ideas of how to check further? Is it likely...

Re: Microwave reacts badly to fat
Hahahahaha... Yeah, if i were, I would too. I hardly use the micro, don't really like it. But it's handy for reheating. Wasn't a whole chop, just the bone that i'd cut the meat off, I wanted to see if I could quickly cook the little meat and fat bits still stuck on it. I like gnawing on bones...
I get all the answers, but I'm still wondering about the fat thing. I'm pretty sure it is oil/fat. I experimented. For example, if I reheat a strip of cooked bacon, it goes nuts from the start, starts zapping. But, if I bury...

Re: Microwave reacts badly to fat
Thanks!
Does this relate to the fat issue? I'm curious about that particularly.

Microwave reacts badly to fat
Microwave seems to react badly to anything fatty. At the mildest, the time display starts flickering. Sometimes, it resets, the display goes black and the remaining time is gone. Sometimes it zaps and crackles. Symptoms seem to be worse depending on how fatty the food is. Goes wild, dimming from about the first second of trying to reheat a strip of precooked bacon. A precooked meatball causes occasional dimming. It works just fine with no-fat foods.
Started a couple of weeks ago when I put in a small raw porkchop. After a few seconds, the unit started spitting and zapping, and I...

Brother HL-2140 laser printer: printer error (solved)
SOLVED. I removed the printer in settings, replugged and let it reinstall and it worked this time.
Brother HL-2140 laser printer
Windows 10
Attempt to print and immediately get a Windows pop-up saying "Error printing". The document appears in the printer queue window with Status "Error-printing".
Turned off printer. Unplugged, waited, replugged. Ran the Windows troubleshooter. Removed and reinserted toner cartridge. Checked for paper jam. No printer error lights. Reinstalled driver. Restarted the Spooler service. Rebooted...

Re: LG LST5651SW stove: oven not heating properly
Thanks for all the help and hanging in there! It took a while, but I learned some basics. If I had to do it over, or next time, this would go way quicker.
I'm pretty confident it's something on the main board. I'm not gonna start trying to replace components on the board. A replacement board is $300 -- not worth it.
Cheers!

Re: LG LST5651SW stove: oven not heating properly
Checked resistance in place. Both it and the one above are 1.98 ohms. No signs of damage....Last edited by Curious808; 01-14-2023, 03:04 PM.

Re: LG LST5651SW stove: oven not heating properly
Between clicks (I guess the relay opening and closing) they were alternately both 0.00 or
J202 4.83
J206 0.88
Tested from the component side, not the solder side, during the first five minutes of the BAKE preheat. The 0.00 periods were much longer, maybe 30 seconds or more, than the periods lasting maybe 15 seconds that showed current....Last edited by Curious808; 01-14-2023, 01:46 PM.

Re: LG LST5651SW stove: oven not heating properly
In the photo, I see the yellow and blue lines and the ground. Not sure how to test. The stove is live, oven set to bake preheat? Testing from the solder side. Where do I position the probes, one on one of the ground points and the other to each of the yellow and blue solder points?...

Re: LG LST5651SW stove: oven not heating properly
To summarize:
1. Oven heater element: continuity and resistance OK and to spec; visual inspection showed no flaws.
2. Sensor continuity and resistance OK and to spec.
3. Relay board: no 240 current from bake relay (live), diodes OK.
4. CN8 to CN7 wires from relay board to main control board continuity OK. Wires and solders in general look OK.
5. Main board: transistor checks, 1 OK, 1 inconclusive.
As it stands, stovetop works, oven works to about 360 heated...Last edited by Curious808; 01-12-2023, 05:17 PM.

Re: LG LST5651SW stove: oven not heating properly
Not sure of these readings. Had to move the probes around to get anything, wasn't just touching the solders and catch a reading. I did manage to get all of the readings below more than once.
In diode test mode, based on the color-coded drawing above:
Top transistor (in photo)
PINK 0.65 0.00
BLUE 0.00 0.00
GREEN 0.65 0.00
Bottom transistor
BLUE 0.88 0.00
PINK 0.98 0.00
GREEN 0.87 0.55...

Re: LG LST5651SW stove: oven not heating properly
Here's all the relay board diode tests:
1) Already posted, with the oven set:
R6 0.0 VDC
R5 13.5 VDC
R8 13.5 VDC
Unplugged:
2) diode test
R6 0.213 V
R5 0.092 V
R8 0.092 V
Not sure if I did diode test properly, got same readings when I switched red and black probe position. Attached photo shows multimeter setting.
3) resistance
R6 349 ohms
R5 139
R8 140
The...

Re: LG LST5651SW stove: oven not heating properly
Tested the diodes. Not sure if that's how, but touched probes to lead wires on either side (see photo).
Set oven to 350, preheat started.
R6 0.0 VDC
R5 13.5 VDC
R8 13.5 VDC
Tested 3-4 times each.
(Thanks for the help, and sorry if it's taking so long. First time doing most of this, so taking it slow.)...
