Good job, another way to remove the potting mixture is to BOIL it in a saucepan for at least 20 min. I've done this a number of times, best to put in some marbles...to keep the board off the bottom of the pan. It may take a few times, but be assured it works. The problem with solvents can be losing part types.

by foshlandHi, I have this card with the fuses, resistors or whatever they should be not populated from factory, maybe the seller scammed me or im comming crazy, but as I can see, there never where something there, have a look, what do you think?
More fun comes when I saw a Dicky96 video with same card and he meassured the 6pin fuses (the ones im talking about) and he finds that they are open (but as far as I can see there is nothing there, just pads)
Does anyone has same card??? schematics says they should be there.

by rutgervDear all,
For a friend I'm trying to repair an Acer Swift 3 laptop (SF314-42). I'm not a professional, but have some experience (both as amateur and professional) in working with electronic design and repair of musical instruments.
The issue with the Acer laptop is the following:
It was bought new and used (not heavily) at home for about three years. After normal use, it was put to sleep, connected to charger and left over night (just like any other day). The next morning, the laptop would not wake up from sleep. Instead, when pressing the power button, the power... -
by NovgorodHi!
I have an Asus Z270i mini-ITX board with a dead DIMM slot (the one further from the CPU). The board POSTs with only the other DIMM populated but gets stuck with the DRAM error LED when the bad slot is populated. The test RAM and CPU are known working (confirmed in a different board, both memory channels are fine). The board was working for many years in a watercooled system and had a tiny bit of corrosion in different places (which came off without issues) and no visible component or trace damage.
What are the steps for DIMM (DDR4) socket troubleshooting? Since the... - Loading...
