    CQ62 Drains Battery Dead Overnight

    Hey guys need help with this one. I have a cq62-225NR that runs and works well on windows 7 or 10. The problem i am having is it kills good known battery overnight dead. It charges well and runs off battery fine and is shutting down when powered off. I don't have the board # as i have not opened unit yet. This is the AMD model
    Any help would be great

      is it set to fully shutdown at power off ?

          Yes fully shutdown. It will even do this with no operating system. Hard drive removed

              have you ruled out the battery pack yet by removing it ?

                  Yes. I can put battery in another laptop can sit there for days and no issue always fully charged

                      So i pulled mb out and installed it into another laptop that had bad mb and now unit can sit for days on end and does not kill the battery. I am not sure what was the issue but is working now

                          My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

                          Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

                          My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.

                          Hi, so the old battery was getting error stated it's capacity is starting too get low and should be replaced, so the customer bought a new one and replaced it, but the new battery was also getting this notice that it's capacity is getting low and should be replaced, so i took the laptop for testing and the battery is charging at the terminal at 8.03V , the voltage of the battery is 7.7V, and drawing around 600mA when charger is put and the laptop is off...so that should be ok... but the bios system test doesn't recognize the battery and can't do the battery test and so is the hp battery manager,...

                          This iPad was working fine except the battery was not holding charge for more than 40 minutes. I replaced it with a new battery. I haven't glued the battery yet, just inserted it into the slot and held it with battery screw.

                          The iPad was powered on with the new battery and I am getting white screen with Apple logo for about 10 seconds, then the screen turns dark. It then cycles like this forever.

                          I know the battery is working because the iPad continues to boot loop without the charger until it depletes to 0% and the message displays I need to plug in the charger.
