Voltech 40Amp 240V-12V Charger BC-1240P-1AP
Hi All,
I'm trying to find a schematic for the above-mentioned Voltech Battery Charger.
It's a complex unit with a double-sided PCB. The top side has all conventional through-hole components...easy, the underside is full of surface mount components and this is where my problems lie. A few resistors have evaporated, and a couple of zener diodes have also evaporated along with a few condensers...burnt all the above component values were destroyed. I really hope someone out there can help this perplexed Aussie.
Thanks in advance,
Graeme

Re: is it ok to soak a populated pcb in petrol overnight ?
Good job, another way to remove the potting mixture is to BOIL it in a saucepan for at least 20 min. I've done this a number of times, best to put in some marbles...to keep the board off the bottom of the pan. It may take a few times, but be assured it works. The problem with solvents can be losing part types.

Re: Mercedes key rom swap?
He's correct looking at your photos, the PCB has broken tracks. You could try to link the broken tracks (with links initially) to see if it works. If so do fine links and lightly cover the board with rapid fix (there is no other force on this board.
I've done it with success
