    Antec-"2200uf" ferrite beads

    http://www.jonnyguru.com/forums/show...?t=6167&page=3

So antec is putting ferrite beads on the cables and calling them capacitors. This guy is saying that they can somehow squeeze a 2200uf cap into that little plastic cover with the wires in it. Ya, right. He says that antec wouldn't lie about it because of the legal repercussions, well it certainly has him fooled.

i say it fits in there. that thing is about as big as a thumb. why not?
    still, it's a marketing gimmick.

I still have a hard time believing a 10mm or 12.5mm cap can fit in there with the wires too.

Huh? Now that's something I've never seen before please someone crack that thing open.

So they can't fit that shit cap inside the supply so they put it outside hilarious.

On a related note I was able to fit the 4700uf cap in my Antecs they were about 2mms of the board. I was also able to get that corner screw in too. I had to bend the tiny inductor (probably 3.3V one) to the side a bit to get the cap in. I got real good at recapping them quickly towards the end.

Never even thought of ghettoing up the capacitance like that!!!

Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either.

Luckily Enhance dosen't use fukyuu's. Believe they use teapo for the most part.

Does it actually state anywhere that the 'power cache' capacitors are actually on the plug end of the wire? Just because the picture seems to show it there, it doesn't mean it is (in other words, its in the PSU case as you'd expect it to be).

They do look suspiciously like ferrite beads to me...which would probably do more good that capacitors in that position anyway.

Finding comparable ferrite beads on mouser/digikey?
                    by mrkmpn
I have an inspiron with "power rail failure" LED codes flashing, and have found a blown capacitor and ferrite bead (inductor, I guess...)

I've found the replacement capacitor on mouser, but am unsure how to properly search for the ferrite bead. I have the schematics and boardview, so I have found the original bead part#, but the data sheet doesn't seem to include the information I need for the filters on mouser and digikey.

For inductance, and a few other values it just says "Refer to standard electrical characteristics list"

                    Here's...

                    3090 FE Part Confirm/Identification
                    by H H
                    Hello,

I'm hoping someone could help me confirm if I have identified the following parts correctly.

Apparently the DP cable became stuck inside the graphics card and was yanked out. This caused some sort of short which burned the DP contacts and blew some resistors and ferrite beads.

The parts needing replacement are on the back of the board behind the HDMI input.

I have identified the parts as the following:

                    C6037: MLCC 0.1uf/16v(0402)x7R W05

                    R6016: RES 499 OHM 1/16W (0402) 1%

                    LB10911: Ferrite Bead (0402)...

Need help replacing blown ferrite inductor (I think)
                    by mrkmpn
After installing a replacement screen, the backlighting went out and I discovered what I initially thought was a blown fuse. I reconnected the cracked screen and bridged the "fuse" with tweezers and the backlight came on, so I tried the same thing with the replacement screen and the tweezers just sparked, no backlight came on, and the "fuse" was damaged even more. (And yes, the screens were the same model number. I have received an RMA for the screen already)

The reason I think it was a ferrite inductor is that 1st, it didn't look like a fuse I'd seen before,...

What size and head type are these circuit board screws?

On the LED Strip is :
                    SH S1 94V-0 N 1329. LG Innotek POLA2.0 60 Rev 0.1 L Type 2012.10.18

I want to know what LED Beads to use for replacement and where can I read and learn what size and voltage is correct without relying on an ebay seller
                    and where to buy them?

                    What is POLA2.0, L Type?

Most of the clear plastic (I'll call Filter Beads) glued over the LED Beads have fallen off leaving three black dots with clear plastic in them where they broke off. Do New Filter Beads have...

Antec Earthwatts EA-380 smd element type/value
                    by sirpsychol
While recaping Antec Earthwatts EA-380 I've broke one side of unknown smd element, it have no print, it's flatter and darker than smd capacitors on this board, shaped more like resistor but it's not resistor ofc. Unfortunetly the printed description was under it and element was glued to the board so I cant read/tell the letter before element number too. Have anyone any idea what it is? Maybe is there any diagram of this PSU?
