  • Any idea if my results would indicate this being a problem with the mosfet or the BQ chip?...

  • Lenovo Yoga C930-13IKB EYG70 NM-B741 Battery not detected.

Hello, I have a customer that brought this laptop in after replacing his battery. He said his original battery charge was not lasting long, and after replacing the battery with one purchased from iFixit, the charging worked for about 30 minutes and then stopped, and the battery is no longer detected by windows.

This laptop powers on when the AC adapter is connected, and my USB-C multimeter shows current being used with both ports, but the charging light does not come on, and in Windows the battery icon shows an X as if there is no battery present. If I disconnect the AC adapter,...

  • Dell Inspiron 7790 AIO not powering on

    Board is IPCML-CL REVa00

HI, I am trying to get this to power on to get data from a drive that has bitlocker, but there is no recovery key available.

I have 3.3v and 5v rails available, and I have 1.075v that, if I am following the schematic correctly, should be +1P05VSB (1.05v i believe?)

If I check pin 127 on the EC chip (PWRBTN#_IN), I see 3v, which drops to 0 when the power button is pressed. If I check Pin 52 (#PWRBTN), which again if I'm undestanding correctly, from power flow chart, goes to CPU, I have 3.3v which does not change if I hit the power...

I know this is an old thread, but I came across this looking for a boardview and thought I'd post this schematic in case someone else comes looking for it.

Re: Thinkpad T460P NEED BIOS DUMP

Can anyone at least tell me if the bios posted in post #8 in this thread should work on my board? My board is a different Lenovo part # than that request and I different CPU (same generation), but same board number.

Sorry, I just realized I wasn't clear about what I'm needing. Can someone provide a bios dump I can use to test, with the DMI imformation added to it. Or, if someone could tell me what to look for to find the start of the DMI in this type of BIOS so I know what to do in the future?...

Re: Thinkpad T460P NEED BIOS DUMP

    Hi, I have a ThinkPad T460p 20FW with SN: PF0Q8303
    The board is: BT463 NM-A611 REV 1

The problem I have is that any time the machine should reboot it just shuts down and after a second the power button flashes 3 times and goes off. Same thing if I exit bios settings.

Thinking it might be a bios issue, I saved a dump of the bios and tried to update with the most recent update using the -sp switch because the battery does not hold a charge. It went to the black screen showing it was updating the bios, but when...

  • Re: ideapad Gaming 3-15ARH05 Cannot edit DMI

The BIOS from #4 did not work, and the DMI section was actually at 74C000. I found the reason I could not find the section by searching was that the section is apparently encrypted in this BIOS.

I found a tool that decrypts the section, so I copied that to the new bios I got from lenovo site, re-encrypted it with the tool, and flashed it. All of the information showed up in bios settings, but still if I tried to use the U1 tool (set uuid for example) as a test, I still got the SMI Interface not ready error....

  • ideapad Gaming 3-15ARH05 Cannot edit DMI

I could never get a consistent dump from this board (NM-D191, GY535/GY536) but I was running out of things to try so I decided to download and extract the latest bios from lenovo support and flashed it. I was not concerned about not being able to copy the DMI info, because I frequently replace Lenovo board under warranty and use the uOne tool to add all of the information, and was able to get the Windows key from the drive.

The laptop is now consistantly booting properly, but When I try to use uone tool or lvar to edit serial...

  • Help with component replacement ThinkPad T580

Hi, I'm taking another look at a motherboard I tried to repair about a year ago. While replacing a mosfet (that probably didn't need to be replaced), I accidentally damaged a small component next to it. The schematics show the part number PTC-540-2-GP.

It's an 0402 package, and from what I've read it appears to be a PTC thermistor. I tried looking those up on mouser, but I'm not sure what 540 indicates. I assumed it was resistence, but I didn't see any with that resistence listed, and also am not sure what other values might be important.

    I've attached a copy of...

  • Problem with ENE firmware

Awhile back I replaced a burnt ENE kb9028q c, and after programming the replacement, I was unable to get the laptop to work. I did poor job of soldering the chip, and had to go back with my soldering iron to fix a few mistakes, so I thought maybe I had damaged the chip trying to fix these mistakes.

Since I had order two replacement chips (in case I messed up) I recently decided to retry soldering in a new chip again. This time I did well soldering it with hot air.

After installing the chip, I plugged in the AC adapter and...

  • Replacement power switch for Yoga 730-15IKB?

I have a Yoga 730-15IKB with a power switch/button that has broken loose from the motherboard. The traces on the mobo are fine, but I have no idea how to find the correct replacement part. I've tried searching the laptop and motherboard model, but the only thing I've found is a video of someone replacing the switch, with no link to the part. The motherboard model is: DLZP5 LA-F661P Rev: 1.0.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    *Edit*
Never mind... I found the schematic and got the part number.

  • s340-15IWL Laptop stops charging until AC and battery are disconnected

I have a Lenovo IdePad s340-15IWL that will charge fine to 100%, but if you let the battery drain to around 50% (give or take) and plug the AC adapter back in, it will no longer charge and the only way to resolve the issue is to disconnect the AC adapter, disconnect the battery, plug the battery back in, and then the AC adapter, and then it will once again charge the battery back to 100%.

If you unplug the AC adapter and let it drain down a little and plug it back in, charging still works fine. I'm not 100% sure where the cutoff is where it stops working, but I think it's down...

  • Re: Acer Predator pt515-51-75BH KB9028Q C firmware

Is there a way for me to confirm that my Ec firmware has extracted correctly? I used a program called ******. When I added the bios dump.bin file it automatically seleted "Extract ENE EC Firmware", so I'm assuming it should be fine?

  • Re: KB9028Q C firmware

Thanks, that was actually what I tried 1st, but the chip selection window that pops up was blank. I removed the BIOS from the board (I know I should have done this in the 1st place, but hadn't needed to yet) and soldered it to the adapter board rather than using the clip with the chip on the MOBO and it looks to be reading correctly now.

ch341a programmer detected it as the wrong chip brand, but I selected the correct one from the drop down, read it and saved, and then neo programmer detected the correct "family" of chips,...
