    Help to identify burned components, Acbel iPower 85H, 550w

    Hello..

    Yesterday my friend gave me a psu, Acbel iPower 85H, 550w.
    Dead one, and no 5vsb.
    Then i had open the cover, and found one diode is burn. and the ic power switch bh0170a is burned too.

    The diode was burned so hard, so i can't identify the mark on the diode.

    I have draw the simple schematic to the ic near the burned diode, bh0170a.

    I have the spare for ic bh0170a, so i need to identify the diode, to make this psu work again.

      probably a fast rectifier like a UF4007

      btw, it will have damaged the 100uf electrolytic

          Ok, ultra fast rectifier. thank stj.
          But how about FR154 fast recovery rectifier diode?
          Will it work too?
          Because i have a few brand new FR154..

          And this is my only one ic bh0170a left in my spare part box..

              it just has to handle the voltage & current of the chip while beeing fast enough.
              voltage & current is nothing,
              so if FR154 can handle say 150KHz then it should work.

                      That diode is for making DCV running Voltage for the SMP, that Voltage is probably also used to run other SMPS IC of the power supply that is fed through a switched Transistor when PS-ON is present, you can see the trace form the Cathode going to other places. You may have shorted loads some where, and I am surprised that the SMPS IC did not go into protection shutdown mode.
                      Something is drawing too much current, the Voltage DCV from AUX circuit is probably only around 20Vdc at the most and not very high current either.

                          Got a motorbike PCB that had 3 burned diodes.

                          The smaller ones have the marking PJ78 GS1M
                          And one larger one PJ78 GEX

                          Can someone help me identify them so I can be able to replace with same or equivalent?

                          Hey there guys. I've got a Corsair power supply that's come across my bench dead. I usually don't mess with power supplies, but it's a slow week so I'm giving it a whirl.

                          Taking it apart I heard a screw rattling around inside, and when I got it apart I found a couple blown components near what I think is the 5VSB area.

                          There's a 22ohm resistor that's melted and open, but it still has the bands.

                          The other part is a zener diode and it's top went to jesus, so I can't read the marking.

                          It looks like the diode connects the source and drain of a TNY284...

                          I'm trying to find a replacement diode for one that has gone short.

                          I have a generic USB charger that went short circuit to ground on 5V. I found that one of a pair of identical diodes in parallel (and in series with transformer secondary winding) has gone short in both directions, so I suspect it's bad. The marking is CSRS1045, which I believe is a low barrier Schottky with max current 10A and max reverse 45V. I found a spec sheet for CSRS1045-A that has same specs and also says 350mV drop when forward biased.

                          I can't find the exact part number for sale. Similar...

                          My computer monitor ASUS VP249H stopped working, and smoke came out of it.
                          I opened it and found that a voltage regulator had burned out.
                          The problem is that I can't identify its reference.
                          I searched online for schematics or photos of similar boards that people are selling, but without success (no schematics, bad quality of the board or lack of the reference when it's a good quality 😅).
                          How can I find its reference, and do you think it's repairable?

                          Hi guys,

                          I wanted to test a DC adapter and I plugged it into my device and then I immediately smelled the cooked component. I cheked the adapter again and I discovered that it's not a DC but a 24V AC adapter

                          I took apart my tester and I think I found which component burned but I can't identify it for sure and I'm not sure where could i buy a replacement part which is the same or has similar features.
                          I attached a few pictures of the component. I think it's a voltage regulator but some of the markings on the component are burned.
