I bought this psu a year ago for my second build. Today I decided to upen it up and see what's inside. HEC 220uf 400WV primary and 2200uf 16v YC WE secondaries. It's based on Great Wall OEM platform. Is it worth recapping? And also which caps would be decent replacements?

Re: LC 600h-12 v2.31
Looks like a decent 300-350 Watt unit to me. What is/are the rectifiers on the 12V rail, though? That should give you a somewhat better idea of the capability of this PSU. I can't tell from the pictures if this is an old half-bridge platform or forward converter. I also don't know what your PSUs needs are, so I can't say for sure if this PSU will be worth recapping to you. But to me, it does look worth recapping. Should be able to handle a basic PC pretty well.
As for capacitors, obviously something from the Japanese brands would be a good choice. This is what I typically try to get:

Re: LC 600h-12 v2.31
Half bridge converters usualy have 2 series 200-250V caps, this one has only one 400V, this is a clue that suggests a forward converter, i do realise there are half bridge converters with only one 400V cap, but they do use two 1-2,2uF/250V in series, and i do not see it in the pictures, so again i would have said forward converter from the start, what i do see is that it seams to have an active pfc as well. I too think it is well worth recapping, but as it has been sayd, clean the dust, and make sure the cooler is in perfect working order.Comment

by chth96I have an 21 inch CRT TV which is not able to power on.
I disassembled 21 inch CRT TV and measured voltage of main filter capacitor(Samhwa HC 400WV 220uF) in the circuit.
It shows 270V on my DMM.
So I discharged this main filter capactior completely and detached circuit board from cathode-ray tube.
Then I desoldered this main filter capacitor from circuit board.
But I noticed that this desoldered large capacitor(Samhwa HC 400WV 220uF) is slowly charged by itself until it reached 0.6V
I measured its ESR value with MESR-100 and it shows 0.1 ohm,judging...-

by madyoyoHi
I have a Samsung QE55Q65B with a seemingly common problem: it turn off and back on after a few seconds, (sometimes more, and in rare instances works for hours). D001 on the left side of the panel is very hot. I may be able to remove it with a very fine iron, but i don't have the equipment to re-solder such small parts.
Is there a risk to run the tv without this diodes diodes? And is it worth to pay someone else to replace it. I read many people who ended up with bad lines after trying to remove/replace them, , or the panel failing in another way, so i want to weight... -
by CartelI will be pulling my crown vic ECU and recapping it. 3 in total, 47uf 16v x2 and a 10uf 63v
I hope they havent puked yet. I was thinking of replacing them with Aluminum - Polymer thru hole caps. probably 47uf 25v and 10uf 80v
They arent cheap. Anyone have any experience with them? Am I wasing my money on premium caps?
Nichicon PLV series

by HondamanMy mother may soon need to upgrade from Win7 (to continue safe browsing, e-mail, and office tasks, without a printer). Right now, she uses an Intel Core2Quad 9550 CPU (not sure of motherboard). Video is either the Radeon 6670 or 6770, completely air-cooled, with fins like a motorcycle engine (I think I pointed a 120mm fan at it). PSU is probably Seasonic, still running after 14 years (I choose quality). I am not sure of the RAM, or the PCI-e wifi chip. Probably 8 GB or 16 GB. Perfect for WIndows 7.
She does not want to switch to Linux. And she does not want to use a laptop because...-

by Francesc V.Hi:
I am trying to repair this ATX SMPS and I realised once I've replaced the 5V IC that also the coil is gone.
Where (and how) do you look for these parts? same piece or similar that I could try to use it? is it worth it? :-)
Regards,
