Tripp Lite Omni 900LAN battery replacement

For about a week, I had been noticing this thing in a pile of trash dumped on the side of the road. Finally, I put it in my van and headed to the shop.

Someone had taken the cover loose, but left the screws in a baggy inside. It got rained on, but I let it dry out, and fired it up. It has a small, quiet hum when you turn it on, one you can more feel, slightly than hear, but power gets to the battery. Problem is the battery. I took it out and put it on an actual battery charger (a roll-around shop charger) on 2-amp trickle, all day and it got up to about 8V, but even putting the multi-meter across the leads made it lose about 0.1V per second so I concluded the battery needs to be replaced.

Please, suggest some good replacement SLA batteries, and perhaps a source? It currently has a Panasonic LCL 12V24P.

unlikely.
they probably just kick in if the power fails.

Do these also act as a form of line conditioner?

I am sure it has common mode and differential mode line filters, surge protection outputs, plus AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator function) using transformer tap switch for buck and boost to keep the AC output within 120V (the capture range is probably from 100V~125V range) and will kick in UPS mode when it is above or below the capture range or lost incoming AC input.

I'm curious, now how clean the power is while in UPS mode. Perhaps, I could use this to power audio equipment when I want a cleaner than normal signal quality. Any thoughts?

If it is step sine wave, then forget it.
Are you trying to use it like PS Audio power regen?

Yuasa SLA are no way close to Yuasa auto/motobateries in quality. Panasonic is clearly best there.

I don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's just a step or square wave, which I've read is not what you want for audio.

I haven't really given much thought as to what to use it for other than my computer, although in all the years of my life I don't think there's been but one time when I was using my computer (to play an online game) when the power went out, but then I typically shut down all the equipment I hold dear and either unplug them or switch off their respective power-strips during bad storms. That one time the power went out was years ago when the 25-year-old transformer that handles our block, which was scheduled to be replaced years ago, began having trouble handling the load of all the air-conditioners in the area and was randomly tripping.
