    converting 110v to 220v 4x9w

I ordered a lcd separator from the US with built in UV light
It has a rex-c100 that has 110v to 220v in it the heater part works.

The only drama is the psu for the lighting, it took 30 seconds for a 250v capacitor to blow.

I am looking at converting it to 220v to make the lights work what would I need to change?

@240V input, the rectified output voltage will be about 340V way beyond the 250V cap can handle and I hope it did not damage other circuits on the board with that much votage feeding for that long. 120V US will give 165V on the caps.
Can you provide better pictures with straight shot of the board, both sides?
Safe way to power up will be using AUTO transformer made from transformer with dual 120V windings on the primary side.

It looks like the trace for the L (LINE) is blown up!, I have a feeling the board is badly damaged.

Know what kinda board I will need to buy? can't find these any where.

I know if I got one out of a UV light nail cure it would work just the same.

I have no idea what the output voltages are and if there is any control signals feeding this board or not, it looks like two transistor switching power supply.

its just straight hooked up to mains power only isolated by a push in switch.
              Nothing is controlling it.

I reckon I will get one of these just get the power supply board out and wire it all to my machine.

not much effort and its cheap.

I will be curing phones in no time.

You reckon it would be easy to over ride the timer switch?

Should work as long as it uses the same lamps. I doubt the timer is an integral part of the PSU, probably just disconnect it, should be fine.

                    cheers hopefully it all fits.

I am looking for a alternative though, I got until pay day anyway.

I am wondering if you can order these boards else where not knowing what to call them is difficult

They are generally called electronic ballasts, I believe.

Looking at this http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fi...st_for_G23.jpg it may be possible to use an old CFL lamp circuit.

Or use product such as http://www.ebay.com/itm/SCHWABE-Ball...-/361109484165

Disclaimer, I am not an expert with CFLs\fluorescents etc.

if you need a mains to cfl ballast,
just get a dirt cheap cfl and bust it open to use the board.
while your at it, put a decent cap in it like a panasonic NHG instead of the crap they come with.

maybe you should tell us about the lamp(s) you need to drive.

The lamps are 2 pin, 9w uv lamps.

I have spoken to a electrician he has told me to use a 36w ballast and connect them in series.

Well I have connected the UV lamps in series just waiting on ballast

I am also going to add a fuse to this machine as it wouldn't hurt to have some protection.

they may be 4 pin tubes with a starter hidden in the base.
if they are, putting them in series probably wont work.

                                  Hi all,

I recently picked up this amp as not working. I took it as is. Didn't notice until I got home it had foreign power plug and was marked 110v and our local voltage is 220v so then I knew what had happened to it.

Opened it up and was able to find the schematic online. In the schematic I have uploaded I have erased the parts for 220v operation to make it easier for me to visualise however I have since added the two additional diodes and remove the wire link from the power supply so I can test it easier on 220v

From the FAQ I learnt that for 110v the power...

Purchased a heating platform for repairing iPhone X models. It’s compatible with both 110/250v but they sent me the 250v plug and won’t respond to my messages to have the correct plug sent.

The plug isn’t built into it, just plugs in with special connector which is how it’s compatible with both systems. Could I simply cut the 250v head and splice in a 110v plug or simply use an adapter like this? Hi, I am installing a long led strip and I noticed that it frequently flickers slightly, it is not a strong nor regular thing, but it is noticeable and annoying. I have measured the voltage of the mains and it shows some fluctuations, it normally stays at around 226v, but often (every few seconds) drops down to 218/219v), and the flickering happens exactly at the same time. I have measured this at the counter and with every appliance off, so it's not related to the house electrical system, but that's how it comes from the supplier.
I know that the best solution would be to get a voltage...
