Help with my Antec SP-400P with PFC

    Hello,

    My Power Supply stop working.
When I open the was 3 components totally burned resistor R11 , ceramic capacitor C8 and outher ceramic capacitor close to C8 but I can´s see the number.

Can any one tell me the values of this components or can get me the electronic schematics of this power supply?

In the picture it´s possible to see the components position.

    Regards

Yes, says Smart Power in the cage.

I will try to put some pics tomorow.

              Fuhjyyu strikes again!

By the pic, the 2 caps at the top left are blown (5vSTBY), along with the cap under the heatsink to the left of your C8 marking. That resistor is part of that 5vSTBY circuit. It's failure likely indicates that components following it have had a failure also.

Antec PSU's of this genre require a full recap, sans the mains caps, in order to be safe. If you're lucky, you did not blow the motherboard.

Unless you are extremely tight on funds, I would suggest a new PSU. Parts in just caps would run ~$15-$20 with shipping. If you need transistors or other parts, be prepared for several dollars more.

R11 - Unknown value for the resistor. I've checked several threads and my own pics of similar units and that resistor is not used in them. It's marking is on the board, but unpopulated. Most likely a low ohm fusible resistor.

C?? - It's not a cap, but a surge protector/varistor. I think it's marked VZ2 on the board. Again, value unknown as they are covered in black heat shrink tubing in all pics I've seen. Never had a need to open one up for values.

C8 - Is again in an unpopulated position in other similar PSU's I've seen. Are there remnants of it? Leads sticking out of board? If not, do not be concerned about it as it was unused.

Please update your profile with your location.

              Cheers & Welcome!

The "SP" in SP-400P = Smart Power.

There was another two letter designation [vice the SP] that was also for "Smart Power" but I don't remember what it was at the moment.

The other Smart Power designator was "SL".
Of course it could mean "Short Life"... but it was on Smart Powers.

LLP, you might wanna take a peek at the thread where i managed to "revive" an SP-500P. I'm 99% sure the PCB's identical. You might find some useful info in there.

I'm happy to report that it's still chugging away nicely and (pretty) quietly in my "media server" / internet gateway, so to speak

My Sparkle (SPI) PC power supply has broken. Originally, there was totally no power output. The 5V-standby was not there. I have replaced a few bulged capacitors but not helping.

I was trying to do more troubleshooting but burned more components. Some got burned so badly that the markings were gone. And also, the markings of a few transistors were gone because the component surface was worn out somehow.
If you happened to have disassembled the same PSU model, please help to provide the markings of some of these components.

                                Hi,

I am working on a Surface Laptop GO 3, which is the new release 2024 with a i5-1230U processor. Originally, it had a 256GB SSD, then the owner attempted to upgrade it to 1TB SSD by himself. "Surprisingly", it did not boot afterwards, then changed back to the original SSD, did not boot either.

It turned out to be that just a couple of components had been knocked off when the owner was trying to get off the SSD cover with his beloved screw driver.

I do not have another board of same model. Although I have a Laptop Go 2, the layout of that bit...

                                Hi everyone

Here is the case that i'm trying to solve.

(short intro to explain what happened)

I bought second hand Surface Pro 4 and when I tried to reinstall the Windows it appeared there was the password on UEFI. Seller don't reply anymore. I decided to reflash the UEFI chip to remove the password. So I need to remove the chip from the motherboard first.

I have basic experience of repair tablets and phones, like battery or display change. So i opened the Surface Pro 4 and removed the motherboard successfully.

Is it possible to test small ceramic disc capacitor with analogue meter?
                                by chth96
I read EBOOK of Testing Electronic Component and found that

"In order to test the small blue resin coated ceramic disk capacitor which has 104 50v specification,it is possible to test this small ceramic capacitor by making use of analogue meter.
Set to times 10Kohm that has 12v output from the probe to check disorder of ceramic capacitor.
It is not uncommon that testing result of digital capacitance meter is okay,But It show shorted reading when you check it with analogue meter."

I have a DJI drone that is not displaying a video feed anymore after a repair.

When tearing down the DJI drone to fix the armature there was some hot glue next to the camera connector that i had to remove.

Now there are missing components either because they got pulled off or because they where never placed.

I have two reference images from XXZ and a photo of mine.

I'm truely hoping someone has another DJI Mini Pro 3 that they can help me identify what these components are and if they are necessary.

On the board view from XXZ they...
